Exactly, if you're going to ride for the experience, you should ride it like the race without taking the gutters, but in all the early races before Flanders, there are no barriers and all the pros ride the gutter on the Paterberg and the Taaienberg - even the photo they showed was of Tommeke attacking in the gutter. They should at least mention that Taai means tough.

I've done them all and they are awesome, if u do them all u have ridden almost every climb of the Ronde! Also I thaught most of the hellingen (that's what we call them in Belgium), were easier than it looked on TV, but with 2 exceptions; De Koppenberg and the Bosberg, those were HARD AF!
Need a cameraman in a van ahead of you videoing the entire climb to give the audience a real feel for the conditions. Just saying: "we just climbed the XXX-berg" is not informative. And how about the descents in the rain? So the Liege Bastogne Liege climb preview was a lot better.
I don't want to be the grumpy Belgian guy here, but riding the Taaienberg in the gutter is like going to a brothel for a hug...

They should have pointed out you can't ride in the gutter during the Ronde, because it's barricaded off.

No offence but these courses should be eliminated for safety of riders and the equipment. There is no need for these cobble stone races anymore.
