    Great advert for Ribble bikes. Why are they making those clunking noises up La Redoute?

      We used our own pedals, one of which took a bad knock in transit. Pedal body was loose on the axel - made a bad sound when out the saddle with low cadence/high torque.

      Szymon Tylewicz That’s the Ribble CGR SL, it’s designed for Gravel use so the forks make for a softer ride, James put it to the test in our Paris-Roubaix video!

    Crushing climbs...Until you see a big group of pros killing themselves on these hills, you have no idea what being a pro rider is like.... no idea.....

    • @bitchoflivingblah
      @bitchoflivingblah 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yep so true, when I went to the Tour de France last hill stage a few years ago I was stationed in a valley and I was shocked by the state of many of the riders pedalling past after three weeks, they all looked skeletal, sunken cheeks and blank expressions, but were hitting climbs like I'd never seen, that sight has never left me. I was truly humbled to the core.

    • @S2Sturges
      @S2Sturges 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@bitchoflivingblah 1990 was my first Tour, I hung out at Futroscope for a few days before the start and met my of the riders, so trim and fit.. After they left Poitiers, stage 4 (?) I didn't see the race again until the very last climb of the Tour, the Col de Marie-Blanc, a mere 1300 metre hill, but super steep, it was there that Lemond had his puncture and was stuck waiting forever for his team car, I could actually see him from where I was standing, well, jumping around fuming.. But what I recall was the first rider over the summit, Dominique Arnaud of Banesto. I clearly recall this, and have the photo, of him, in the big ring and banging it onto the 12, beaming away to the rapturous cheers of the french fans, he looked really good.. Everyone did as the rest of the bunch flashed over the crest.
      Fast forward to the last Tour I went to, 2003, and in the same general area, near Pau... I saw what you saw, haggard riders not seeing too much of anything, just killing themselves.
      I often wonder if it was the style of racing back then, that less frenetic pace for half the stage before the action of less powerful drugs, but the riders did look much healthier then...

    • @bitchoflivingblah
      @bitchoflivingblah 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@S2Sturges really interesting, probably true about the more powerful drugs such as EPO as they first were commercially available in 1990. I was there co-incidentally also in Pau in 2010 watching Contador and Schleck duke it out on the Tourmalet. I watched that part in a hotel bar after the riders had passed through the village I was staying, in the bar the people were shouting and screaming like it was a football match - hooked ever since.

    Way too much Le Col, way too much Ribble. Really, we all understand what a sponsor is and why is needed, but too much sponsorship can turn us against these brands. Its really boring to see takes of Le Col Shoe covers or explanations about Ribble gains over 2018 model. I hope you don't get me wrong, but its way too much. The video should be 90% about the climb and 10% about sponsors and not jus the opposite. Thank you for the video anyway.

    • @lapedale8840
      @lapedale8840 5 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      50 seconds out of a 22'40" video talking about the Ribble bike means that 96.33% is devoted to the title content, so your argument falls flat there. If you're so against it then I suggest you either pay for content out of your own pocket, or you just appreciate the fact that you're watching something for free because Ribble and Le Col have sponsored it.

    • @MrNeurovegal
      @MrNeurovegal 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@lapedale8840 Don't think so. 100% of the video watching Le Col jackets, Le Col shoe covers, Ribble bikes (I haven't any problem with these two brands, just having an opinion on these sponsored videos). Your suggestions aren't accepted. I actually pay when I think I should (Do you?) and I pay for Le Col maillots and bibs. So I accept your answer, obviously, that is what any social media should be about, but I don't need you pointing me what I should be doing, thanks.

      @@MrNeurovegal and so they should have cycled naked?? Regardless of the kit you will see it. Regardless of the bike you will see it so your point makes zero sense m8- be different if they even mentioned le col and they spoke about ONE bike for about 30 seconds
