    An Ojas lifestyle is living in accordance with nature, consuming ojas increasing foods and herbs, finding mental and emotional balance, gaining proper rest, and practicing lots of self love.
    In Ayurveda, Ojas is the subtle energy of Kapha dosha, and therefore carries similar qualities. Ojas increasing foods and practices are those that will increase your sense of grounding, moisture, contentment, and pure joy.
    Strong ojas = strong, healthy, well-balanced life, strong immune system, high mental and emotional stability.
    Stay strong.

    After abhyanga should I take hot or cold shower immediately or wait a while? Are cold showers bad for vata? I was doing cold showers because I was following the wim hof method but after reading Vasant Lad's Science of Self-Healing I'm not sure that cold showers are actually good for me.

    • @Clareminded
      @Clareminded  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Great question. Cold showers increase circulation, but if you have a strong vata imbalance, this may aggravate you as anything cold will only increase vata. It will truly depend on how it serves you and if it brings balance or imbalance into your day. After abhyanga it's best to wait at lest 20 minutes before rinsing of :)

    I would like to add one thing: any practice, as the practice to increase Ojas is, can become in itself a cause of decreasing Ojas... so take it easy.

  • @yungavelle
    @yungavelle 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Very good video. Practicing semen retention I've found increases the ojas as well. Interesting that I thought it was only in men cuz of semen. You've put me on. Are there any supplements you recommend to increase ojas?

    • @Clareminded
      @Clareminded  3 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Yes sexual retention is very powerful. As most can agree, sexual release does cause a depletion of ojas. Herbs to help increase ojas would be Chyavanprash (a jam tonic), brahmi, gotu kola, ashwagandha, ghee and shatavari are a few of my favorites.

    Rasa dhatu (Lymph)

    Mamsa dhatu (Muscles)
    Medha dhatu (Fat)
    Asthi dhatu (Bone)
    Majja dhatu (marrow (bone and spinal))
    Shukra dhatu (Semen)-> 7 Dhatu or elements of our body get properly nourished then Ojas is bound to happen. Chawanprash is just one of the rasaynas but is it kinda superfood to ojas is not correct. Its very importat to understand own "body and MIND" , Balanced diet, Brahamcharya, Yoga will all lead to ojas. and also selections of herbs and Rasayna must be according to ones body type, season and availability

    I stopped in the middle, sorry. but what you are describing is sattvic eating for lowering vata, enforcing kapha. thats totally fine, but not directly a way to ojas for everyone apart from vata..and even not for vata, cause it takes more than that. ojas is created as the last subtle energy after every tissue in the body is served or by spiritual practice. maybe you talk about it later,.
    promising ojas by eating this and that? its not like that. if your body is not healthy it won't happen, cause the good input will be put in a trashcan.
    also for kapha people this is not really recommended. they will maybe even become fat/get liver problems or become tamasic (the bad energy you describe with eating junk food and so on..you can also generate it with wrong/too much food) this could be too much for kapha with all that oil and fats. for kapha it could be sth to add every now and then, but recommending oil/fat for kapha regularly seems not to be a good idea.
    love your yoga flows, but this video is a lot of mixed up and simplified information marked as general, but in the end its just not right.
    with great reach comes great repsonsibility. i absolutely value your effort, but you are talking about health and the information is not really correct and misleading for people who do not know better, this is why I'd like to clarify, it's not my style to correct everyone.
    but: this is sattvic living with an option for ojas for vata, maybe pitta also.
    i'll stay with the flows. thank you, best wishes.
