  • Hi and welcome back to my kitchen. This week I'm going to show you how I made these really run realistic looking ice cream themed cakesicles. The cakesicles / cake pops have a full candy melt outer shell, including the cone and are filled with yummy vanilla cake on the inside.

So cute!!!! I thought they were real cones! Thank you so much for sharing your baking knowledge and insight in all your videos- it is truly helpful and makes trial and error mistakes much less frequent for us all, and it really allows me to focus on enjoying baking and artistically making things. I've always been a very wonderful intuitive baker and chocolate artist - so especially thank you so much for sharing your insight about using oil based colours to colour chocolate . I always knew white chocolate was temperamental but didn't realise oil based colouring existed , nor that gel food colouring was water based ! That's why it doesn't work!!! That's why it siezes white chocolate! Because it has water in it!!! The most satisfying revelation I can't thank you enough for!!!! I have tried for years to make it a success, with the only successful way being to turn it slightly into a ganache by adding some cream or milk to it, it sets but just not as hard. I really love your videos - your format is so calm, informative and to the point- so satisfying and That's why your videos and TH-cam channel stand the test of time - real artistic talent, real baking talent, lots of insight and clear instructions, and a beautiful clear, calm logical format. Thank you so much - please keep your videos like this always - I love them, and I love that they aren't click-bait-ey or annoying or 50 hours long hehe, and you've got such a lovely , calm, intelligent, happy sunny personality - so professional and gentle- thank you for providing a lovely way to enjoy baking and making and creating things, and sharing in good ideas - that doesn't always require me to actually bake myself hehe Love you lots xxxx

Hi, thank you so much for your comment, it really does means so much to me to read this. I am just so pleased you enjoy the videos and are able to take things away from them to use in your own cake making. If there is ever anything you want to see or want me to include in a tutorial please just let me know as I really want to make videos you will all enjoy and be able to use. Thank you so much again and thank you so much for watching x x

You are an artist. So beautiful and cute. Maybe could shade in the waffle cone with some brown or golden luster dust to give it that toasty look. That mint choc chip one looks so realistic I can almost taste the mint 🤤 yum! Thanks for another amazing tutorial.

Hi Bridie, Thank you so much, I'm so glad you like them. That is a great idea for the cones. I did actually try this on a test one, and this would be great if you are adding them maybe onto the top or side of a cake, I think this would look so good. If you're making them as cake pops I did find the luster dust /tint came off on my hands when I held it as the candy melts were quite shiny, so the lustre dust/ tint didn't stick.
