- Will Travis Scott Deliver Another Classic With His New Album ‘Utopia’? Travis Scott recently did an interview with I-D Magazine where he gave an update on the release date of his new album Utopia which is set to drop in 2021. On the 2-year anniversary of Astroworld, Travis Scott posted a letter on social media telling his fans “see you in Utopia”. In this latest interview, he said “Utopia is coming soon. You can bet that”. His two singles ‘Highest in the Room’ and ‘Franchise’ which both went #1 on the Billboard Hot 100, will likely be featured on Utopia to boost streams.
Travis Scott has an amazing discography with albums such as his 2015 classic ‘Rodeo’ and 2018’s ‘Astroworld’ which will certainly age as a classic album. Travis’ albums have given us hits like ‘Antidote’, ‘90210’, ‘goosebumps’, ‘through the late night’, ‘Can’t Say’, ‘Sicko Mode’ and many more. In December of 2020 it was reported that Travis was seen working on Utopia in Mexico with Don Toliver, Wondagurl and Hit-Boy. There is no exact release date as of right now but the album will likely drop in the spring or summer of 2021. Do you think that Travis Scott will deliver another classic with his new album ‘Utopia’?

Oh My Dis Side, I can Tell we’re moments where I can see Travis Talent his potential, Astroworld Bystanders he spoke on Hometown Houston hints why the cover references the amusement park ride. He not my personal favorite but I do see why his version of auto tune, Dark Pop rap aesthetics are appealing. Love to see James Blake, Wayne, possibly Vince Staples could work for a collab.

Antidote made me a fan, but after listening to Rodeo he became one of my favorite artists. I think Travis is gonna deliver a great project with lots of amazing collaborators. I really wanna see Tame Impala and The Weeknd on the album.

We need some rage beats like “miss the rage” from trippie and “off the map” from sofaygo. Sofaygo, cochise, ssgkobe, and tyfontaine are all starting to hop on them and i think travis will really push those beats to the mainstream, especially if he’s collabing with guys like sofaygo and tame impala.

It's definitely a classic. Do you think Utopia will be a classic?
I’m predicting a very tame-Impala influenced album. I think production will be psychedelic and more alternative than his past albums but use hip hop drums and hip hop features all over the album. I essentially see a lot of songs that are similar to astrothunder, skeletons, oh my dis side, etc. I think Travis has grown a lot from Astroworld so his lyrics will be very introspective, maybe covering topics of his relationship, fatherhood, fear of coming down, etc. regardless I’m really excited for this album.
PS I’m hoping to see features that also create psychedelic hip hop like Cudi, 070 shake or Atleast add on to a psychedelic feel (phoebe bridgers, toro y moi, Kevin Parker, Yves Tumor)
I would love to see Travis work with UMO, bun B, or bad bunny.. might be out of this world but Travis Scott does that haha

Stakes are definately high for travis and utopia this year.
He is essentially in the position that Kanye was right before shifting the game and solidifying his position amongst Jay,Nas,Em etc with college dropout,late registration and graduation.
If Utopia delivers hes instantly gonna solidify his position right beneath Drake,Kendrick,and Cole as the 4th man up and then will be in the running to eventually challenge the big 3 position IF his musical quality remains in tact as his brand and endorsements and visuala aesthetic continues to expand within his career.
This is a great analysis and you're right Travis is at that position where all eyes are on him and it's time to prove that he'll be a generational artist👀 But he's already the 4th man up behind Drake Kendrick and Cole...

Like musically hes killing it and branding wise hes killing it I just think with utopia he needs to solidify more that hes holding tha 4th position STRONG and make the big 3 sweat and realize "Mmm yea hes unquestionably on our heels and ain't letting up on us".
Now it's like they know hes in the discussion but he hasnt suffocated the position yet blocking anyone else out that would challenge it.
As for features, Kevin Parker would be fire, Roddy Rich and Kendrick would be crazy too. Wouldn't be mad with thug, Dok Toliver or Frank Ocean either
