Oh my days!! you just saved my camera! Thank-you so much for this tutorial. I had tried so many fixes but this is what restored my autofocus. The mistake i had done is pressing the lens release button while mounting the lens which made it pass the lock by an inch ,thus making the lock stuck.

Thanks BlueRidgeDave. That just fixed my D750. I just pushed it a few times and the autofocus came back.

I'm going to try this, desperately need help for my camera, Nikon D3300 is the one that I use. No one helped me with this kind of problem, every article and videos about this issue is always about check the settings, check if you're using auto-focus settings, all those simple solution. Hopefully this will work.

Good luck.. you can tell right away if the pin doesn’t move that it needs to be lubricated.. happened to a d600 and a d610 for me..

    • @BlueRidgeDave

@@BlueRidgeDave I had Nikon d600 too but AF on D lens only not working. G lens works perfectly. Now I found one D600 with AF problem. I just want to make sure that would be the same to solve

@@thanghoa95 I gotcha.. my d610 started this issue.. it might be worth to check that pin to make sure it is moving.. the lens wouldn't even mount right until I noticed that pin. I also had a used d600 I bought as a backup that when I bought it the guy said sometimes lens fall off the mount and had AF issues. I just used it for timelapse videos at night but I got to looking at it closely and it too had the pin stuck so once I cleaned it now AF works on it too.. good luck hope you can figure it out.. I was looking for a 80-200mm AFD lens unless I can find a good deal on a 70-200mm 🙂
