Nice video. I understand your point. However, the reason why many advertisers advice against using any of the default campaign objectives is because they take the control away from you and give it to Google.. These campaign objectives also come pre-built with settings that are optimized for spending a lot of money on your campaign (which is obviously what cares about) and not conversion.
I manage a massage spa which is a service based business. I have a search campaign, display campaign targeting the topic massage therapy and spa as an audience. And I have a pmax campaign. I have conversation tracking for calls, get directions, contact by email and engagement for 20 seconds or longer, purchase from booking online. I want people to come to the shop or call the shop or book online for an appointment for a single person massage, couple massage, or a male massage therapist. Which should I focus on sales or leads? For each campaign?
Hello, you won’t the exact mention of “indexed data” as the Google website phrases it with statements such as: “or are close to making a purchase decision” If you get a call with a Google office (not rep) staff make sure you ask them about “indexed data” and “account level conversions” as it really does help explain certain functionality features of Google Ads. I really hope that helps. Aaron
@@AaronYoungGoogleAds Ok thx...I just checked my Campaigns...In some Campaigns i had "LEADS" in some i had "NO GOAL"...Its the same Campaigns with different location targeting...And i have to say, there was no noticeable difference in performance in the last 8 month....FYI...
some of my Campaign create 5- 8 year ago there is no object to choose (i have more than 300 Campaign for my each product) should i setup and choose the Campaign objective
Is his course any good? Or can you find it all on TH-cam. I got click geeks course and they ended having all there courses on their TH-cam channel and was never updated.
Hi, Aaron, I really appreciate all your excellent videos. One question bothered me for a long while: for the max performance campaign, can I run the search campaign or display campaign to supercharge it? Or do you think this method is unnecessary?
Does this advice still hold if you want to run video ads on a particular TH-cam channel (Eg. A popular channel in your niche)? Because I thought this was one of the things Google has changed recently. They won’t let you do that if you choose a campaign goal.
HI Aaron, makes sense! I was wondering what goal to use when your sales come from affiliate sources? Would you set the goal to sales or a personal goal of outbound clicks? Because the customer never makes a sale at the website directly.
something is not right here - if choosing a campaign goal does more than just tell you what type of campaign accomplishes a given goal, why is this option not available in the desktop Ads Editor?
Hi Hylaaea, I can’t answer why it is not there in editor. But I can confirm the importance of setting this in the campaign settings, over the past 6 months I have had 2 in depth talks with different Google (H/Q) activation teams about indexed data sets and how they function at the account level.
For me, this is just theory at this point. Does this only work when i use automated bidding strategies? When I start with Manual CPC (not enhanced), it shouldn‘t make any difference if I select a goal or not, right?
I'm just a dude out of his element here but when I set my first campaign to leads it was completely out of control and produced nothing... My next attempt so far has been better ... You need time to gather data, negative keywords, etc in my opinion before adding a goal It's just like optimization recommendations they will 9/10 mess up your campaign and cost you a pile of money But I'm listening....
Sorry, I've got no idea where you're getting your info from. This feature simply changes the setup options and recommendations you get. It doesn't impact bidding like you say. Would be great if you can post a link to where this data is as the more of your videos I watch, the more incorrect information you're sharing
I've literally tried so many diff campaign and goal types, and Im still not getting impressions. I feel like Google is just moving the goal post and trying to bleed as much money as possible. Last time I looked at my analytics traffic, I literally got more organic search traffic than paid. Im just about done spending money on this worthless Ads....
I have four smart campaigns running, I have a budget of £2 a day for each campaign. I am getting about 100 clicks a day on each of the campaigns. Lower your budget, dont spend more than you can afford, after six months of data that google can analyse increase your budget to £4 a day.

HI Aaron, makes sense! I was wondering what goal to use when your sales come from affiliate sources? Would you set the goal to sales or a personal goal of outbound clicks? Because the customer never makes a sale at the website directly.
You need to optimize them for clicks not sales go with No Goal Guidance.

I use to do no goal for manual campaigns, these objective are useless you can't get any conversions.
But what’s the said benefit of using the No Goal campaign type?
No benefit, it’s just a waste option
@@the-hindu-family by waste option you mean it's there to make us debate what is better? :))

Have to test it.
Don't say "no" before testing it.
