Small comment here, if you want to setup a VPN which allows clients to also have internet access then you need to select the "Virtual private network (VPN) access and NAT" option - see video around ~2:31.
Thankyou for taking the time to share that knowledge Miguel - I looked at a few on the internet but none were as clear and easy to follow as yours. I have a VPN server working at last!
@@ahmadammar2939 just saw your message. This was 4 years ago lol. At 5:11, it is the servers firewall, then after you do the servers firewall, it seems like you have to type in the IP address of your router, to make the changes he tells you to there. I might be too late on this you probably already got it
Clearly spoken and straight to the point! Great video, helped me figure out why my VPN wasn't working. Turns out I missed the "allow access" for the user in AD.
Excellent video. Was looking for a way for my clients to gain access back to the office resources without spending too much. This did the trick and my client is happy as the vpn tunnel is quite fast.
Very clear instructional video. I have one question though: if multiple clients are connected to the VPN, how can you find these client's VPN IPs? I am thinking of using this for gaming with friends as an alternative to Hamachi.
Boy! you are brilliant, thanks so very much for this video. I had to carry two laptops daily, no i'll carry only one and use VPN. I have a static ip on my router :-) Thanks again for this, really this video was extremely helpful. God bless you and i wish you a very happy new year :)
THANK YOU!!!! Very helpful. I ended up needing to configure the modem and router both for port forwarding to be able to reach the server. Thanks again!
Hi, we have one server in my office, and its loaded windows server 2012, and we are using 4G router for innternet connection, could you please explain how to configure the server for remote access, thank you
Most Informative and relevant tutorial on VPN configuration on you tube . Great Job only thing I thought you could have added in closing was how the VPN functions with the shared folders but stellar Job otherwise.
Thank you for the great tutorial. can i ask also your recommendation what should i do i have 22 rooms the wall is very thick i we need to put each room a router, what setup should i do sir?
Thanks for this great Video sir, after VPN connected, Internet is not working ? Please advise which settings need to do on server side to allow Internet after VPN connected.
Hi Miguel. great video. i would like to ask a question. I have a finger Print Attendance Machine located in our Resort. and our Headoffice wants to connect it. Head office is on another island ( Remote) .. we have a Windows server 2012 setup as a RRAS/NAT Router already setup. The finger print machine is on this LAN. can our head office access to the unit using the information u have provided ? thanx in advance
Miguel, how would the settings change if someone were trying to connect and setup their server, say if they were across in another state and wanted to remote in? Could you make a video showing us that? I cant seem to find a good video with someone demonstrating it. All I seem to find is videos showing someone remoting in locally
Hi, I'm using separate VMs for Domain Controller and VPN server and so I used your guide to setup my VPN server but I cam across a message box saying that before I can use the server for remote access, my Domain Controller needs to perform the task first. What does this mean??
Good video. I have a question, in case I purchased a public IP from my ISP that I configure in my router, I will have to enter this public IP in my client computer when i will connect it to the VPN server ? As in the Port forwading option, I will put the local IP address of my server, it won't have any problem i will try the connection by using the public IP, isn't it ?
Don't need to put the public IP on client computer. Make sure ur server have the Public IP or Private IP mapped thru NAT which can be accessible worldwide and put server IP in port forwarding option. Now u can connect VPN thru Server's IP in which VPN server is configured.
Hi, I have windows server but i am not able to access the router. how do i set port forward. I need to connect a windows 7 machine to a windows server 2012. how do i do that. I have done all the parts you have shown in the video except the port forward.
Thank you for your interesting video ..i have a small question ( how to enable network access through vpn my vpn connected succesufly but network discovery is not working as it should be )
How does it look like from the client computer when connected? You suddenly(by explorer) see all the computers in the network you logged into now? Just like you are on the local LAN?
Thats a great Tutorial, Can you please assist me on one topic. I have a VPS Server from a company and I dont want my clients to know about the VPS company from whom I am buying the VPS, how can i mask my original public ip address that is configured on the server and provide them a way to connect so they dont see the actual IP . Thank you.
Thank you very much for this video, i have some question here, what kind of internet connection my windows server 2012 R2 Machine should connected to (an static ip address connection or dynamic is ok), i mean do i need to buy an static ip connection from my ISP for the router to which my Windows server 2012 R2 Machine will be connected. And if i can use dynamic connection then how Windows Server 2012 R2 manage dynamic IP of machine. ? Thank you.
there is a service (like Dynamic DNS) that you can sign up to, you then install their software to monitor your changing IP address, and convert them to permanent host name.
