- After motor started, soft starter will quickly cut off the power and automatically turn on the bypass contactor, so that the three-phase electricity directly supplies power to the motor through the contactor. Buy ATO soft starter online: www.ato.com/so...
The missing part of the control terminal in the video: during operation, 7 and 10, 8 and 10 need to be connected.
I’m having intermittent voltage drop out issues to my bypass contactor. Can the internal micro relay fail? Is there a limit for bypass coil resistance?
What does N1 go to
@ATOCOM, I have a sotf starter of 25 hp 37 amp of current at 480 V, for one motor of 25 hp nominal current 27 amp, what voltage of coil contactor do you recommend?

@@JosePonce-rg4nv If you have a neutral line, you can use a bypass contactor with 277V coil voltage.
So i can connect the bypass wire number 1 back to R? We ate using a generator
You can regard the bypass port (1&2) as a switch. When the startup is completed, the switches 1 and 2 will be turned on. In theory, as long as the load capacity of the terminal does not exceed 250V and 2A, it is OK.

It worked. So far so good. Can i use this starter for multiple motors? Also does it have a timer? We're using it to start a 150hp jaw crusher motor. I will keep you posted on it's performance. Hope to be crushing rocks this month.(5/11/2022)
Do your soft starters absolutely need the bypass contactor? I would prefer to avoid it
It must be equipped with a bypass contactor, because the main circuit that has been soft-started will be disconnected after successful startup, thus switching to bypass operation.
tks ❤
Nowhere in your videos on soft starters do you show how to wire the 2 wire connection for start and stop. I am using a remote control to turn on and off the machine so I have a 120VAC output as a signal to the soft start to start or stop. I also cannot find anywhere what signals terminals 1 through 12 are looking for. I have the unit sitting on my bench now and this information is not even in the manual. Also your 2 different videos show different wiring for the terminal 1 and 2 wiring to the bypass relay.
Thank you
I beleive we have everything wired up properly, but when the start mode is completed and contacts close 1 & 2 amperage is rising to motor causing it to humm so we quickly turn it off to avoid issues with motor. very strange.
thanks
