Great demo flight footage. Has very good future potential. Worth keeping an eye on. I watched some of MarioFPV videos, I believe he's a developer. Very cool. 🤔 Kudos to Emax for making this available even if in limited amounts. 👍😎
i dont think the latency info is quite that accurate, ian from mad tech said he was measuring glass to glass latency of about 30-40 ms and HDzero has a latency at the topend of about like 14 ms so there is no way openIPC could get that low but i think the devs said that with software optimization they could get it into the 30ms range and 25 ms (with high refresh rate screen) - they are working on some VRx modules but right now you have to DIY it rn with a raspberry pie sort of thing (radxa zero 3W ) and are also working on goggles but dont expect the goggles to come out any time soon .
I know at least for our public park you can reserve time slots for parties (you can do it without a reservation but if there is a reservation the police can ask you to leave if so)
Usually there are signs somewhere if tables can be reserved but I didn't want to cause a scene and I think she was packing so I thought it was safer for me to just leave.
OMG, you found another karen! They think they own everything and everyone. DISGUSTING! Seems like latency isn't the problem but the phone screen setup so we need EMAX to make a real VRX with HDMI out ASAP.
Looks good. Just at first glance, the Runcam has better colors. I’ve had great luck with my Radxa based VRX attached to regular FPV goggles via hdmi with the Runcam and with my DIY OpenIPC setup.
@@marblekitfpv I know, that’s the weird part. It might be the stock settings, I know the Runcam could be tweaked by editing the user file on the sdcard.
This is not a typical VR goggle with 2 lenses. It just uses mirrors to show the screen so no split screen is needed with the one I have. It's pretty hard to find and no longer made.
@@marblekitfpv I was wondering cause I couldn't find the option for split screen and openipc team should make an option for split screen like "gofpv" app(analog)
from my limited understanding the reciever is really just a very big wifi card running very custom hardware (essentially they hack the reciever to use it to stream the video) it doesnt really do any video decoding - that is what your phone is for (video decoding and viewing), you can however DIY a VRx module using a radxa zero 3W though and plug that into your HDzero goggles (quite a few people have already done this)
That's the default setting sent out by EMAX. Other bitrate options are available if you go into the settings. I will have that in another video. I wanted to just show how it looks as it was sent before I started making modifications. More videos are coming so stay tuned...
Awesome flying and testing, Albert! 😃 I bet the latency was bugging you, but honestly? It looks great. I hope someone makes a VRX for it so we can test it with proper goggles, using the HDMI port. Anyway, stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊

Got Karen'd 😅 good to see some more juicy aggressive flying while testing 👍🏻
This system looks promising for the early stages. Thanks for the videos. Keep em coming.
For a beta system it's pretty good, some digital breakup, but usable. With some future improvements it should be better. Thanks for testing

Best to avoid 'crazy' is always a good idea.
25ms is better than HDZERO! Thanks for the test. Hope they make goggles soon.

@@notsogood4321Could be great one HDZERO external module with OPENIPC.
It is decoding time, not latency
Plus they're adding way more latency with the phone. If the VRX had HDMI-out I think these tests would be more successful.
@@MachineCreature i think use high end android with refresh rate 120hz will give you 35ms latency glass by glass
Thanks for taking the time to be the guinea pig for us!
You bet!

LOL she had a "reservation" for a random picnic table at ap public park.
Some people just feel entitled to everything and don't care about anyone else but themselves. This is the sad world we live in today.
Pretty impressive video for a beta system. Got to watch out for for those sussy park ladies! Keep safe
Seems goggles are needed?
Exciting times!
Interestingly, it doesn't break up like hdzero does with the digital static
hdzero is straight up trash

You know its the same sensor, right?
@@marblekitfpv I know, that’s the weird part. It might be the stock settings, I know the Runcam could be tweaked by editing the user file on the sdcard.
EMAX probably had different settings for the camera. I'm sure it's adjustable. Albert will probably make a video about it later.

California fires in the background 😞
How did you get the video stats in the lower left corner?
That's part of the built-in OSD from OpenIPC. I just moved it down there instead of the top where it was on default.
@@marblekitfpv I haven't used the Android app much and when I did I was using MSP OSD, I will check it out thanks.
Thumbs up for honestly showing how bad it is.
How did u get split screen in that app for vr goggles

Would these work with usb c over DisplayPort devices like XReal glasses? Use an adapter cable for HDZero and would be cool to try the same with these!
nahh. the rx ist just a WiFi Card, Phone does heavy Lifting of Decoding the Data...

I think you should try with mcs 2 to get more smoothly, because you fly not too far
What is MSC 2?
@@marblekitfpv check in /etc/wfb.cfg
Looks like its dropping alot of frames. I wonder if 720p would be smoother.
It's a frame rate issue in the recording and it doesn't look that jittery in real life.
@@marblekitfpv Ah ok. Thanks for putting in all the work you do. 👍

Any idea why it's only 4.5 MBps ? DJI and Walksnail get up to 50 Mbps (60 with DJI 04 Air unit)

Personally I would prefer the main flight footage to use the entire screen. The external camera view doesn't add much here in my opinion.
Hmmm, some other people were asking for that so I guess I'll have to see what they say next time.
Footage felt stuttery in comparison to other OpenIPC setups I've seen.
Might be due to a frame rate difference in the footage I shot in the beginning. I guess I forgot to align it to the frame rate of the DVR feed.
What were those setups like? From what I saw, the cost of those setups was quite a lot more.
@@xavierprimeto1752 I'd have to go digging for the details, but pretty sure they were using Radxa Zero 3W on the VRX side.
