Hobby Lobby has a 30% off yarn sale every other week. I find the larger big box yarn sales are seasonly done. So coming up on each season will yield a sale on cotton, linen, bamboo before spring and summer. Wool, bulky yarns, DK and Worsted yarns more before fall and winter.
Right now Ophire has some limited edition hand dyed yarn on a discount sale. And ACTUALLY, I signed up for their promotional emails and they don't spam you, they let you know the instant new hooks and yarn drop and when they have sales or pre-orders and limited edition items. I lovetheir website and hooks.
I used to work for Michaels. Just because something is in an ad, doesn't mean it's a discounted price. You need to pay attention to what the ad says. If it's a sale item, it will have the regular price printed below the sake price. An ad is just that, an advertisement for items a store is selling. People have just come to expect everything to be discounted if it's in the ad, and that's not the reality.
HI Shannon. We have several Michaels here in my local area of Ky. They have lots of regular sales of 20% off yarns online and in store. They are currently offering some black friday pricing, but nothing compared to premiere and hershners sales. What i love about michaels is the bunus bucks u earn from shopping there.
Great tips-love that you do our research for us! I am always wary of Black Friday sales-a great deal is never that easy to find, but, when you find one, it is so gratifying.
Unfortunaly we dont have the same yarnbrands and stores in Sweden. But I still love to hear you talk about yarn. No channel in Sweden. We dont have that many yarnstores like in US. I have to buy online. When its black week I lookout for onlineadds like 20 % off everything, then its time to buy!
Yes, stock up while you can!! Do you have access to Drops yarn brand? I really like that for an affordable priced yarn. One of my absolute favorite places to shop for yarn is out of the UK, called the Wool Warehouse. I wonder if they can ship to you? I was surprised how affordable they were to! Thanks for watching and commenting, I really appreciate it! 😃
@@ShannonTalksYarn Yes we have Drops Design. I looked it up on internet and what did I find?? Guess what !? I have just bought Karisma and it happened to be from Drops HA! Its an very affordable woolyarn and I did get 20% off already HAHA🤪
I have been living in Sweden for 1 month and yarn shops are everywhere! We have 3 good high quality yarn shops in Czech republic (for 10milion people?). I was in heaven in sweden, wool was everywhere!
Awesome vid!! I need a speed course on this, I suck hard at this. Just learning the difference between "acrylic" and "cotton", so I'm def not "in the know" on yarn. Been crocheting a couple years now but just really focused in on it this year, so I appreciate knowing this ❤
Glad it helped Alice! There’s so much to learn, I feel like I’m always learning lol! But I love that you can crochet at about any point in the journey!! Keep it up! 🫶🏻
Thanks Shannon, this is exactly what I was wondering about. I just started crocheting and try to shop sales and I was curious if there really would be good deals on Black Friday since there always seems to be some kind of sale. I did get a set of crochet hooks with a 60% off coupon after Labor Day from Joann’s . I’m guessing the sales will be pretty typical though on Black Friday
Herrschners is great for sales and free shipping at different times Mary Maxim is good too but Herrschners has some really great deals prices are cheaper than Mary Maxim and more often they have free shipping as well
I do have Michael's near me (kind of, like 15 mins drive but I'm in the city & use Uber/Lyft, considering a car though but also need a speed course on if *they're* worth it 😂) so if I'm up around there I'll DEF have to stop in if I do Black Friday this year!
@ Hi Shannon 🤗 I’m pretty sure we do…I know dumb answer! Because we live in a time where we have become one world…we hear about Black Friday sales and can access most of them! 🥰🧶🤩
I really like the rotating sales on the gradient cakes. If you just wait a month or two, the thing you want is going to be on sale. The Halloween and Black Friday seasonal releases are super pretty, too.
@@offthehookcrochetnicole knitpicks is having a 2/4/6 dollar yarn sale coming tomorrow (11/11), but I’ve heard from the grapevine that they have this kind of sale pretty frequently.

Very good point to shop seasonally!!

I’ve heard of that brand but I had no idea they sold yarn! I thought it was only hooks. I’ll have to check it out! Thanks 😃

That’s a great tip, thank you for sharing! It’s too easy to take an ad at face value and not investigate!
I also haven’t seen any black Friday sales on yarn, but premier is having great sales this week!😊
I saw that!! There’s a few tempting me!

@ Lund/Malmo and I visited Copenhagen as well. I loved Lund tante Hulda store!

You’re welcome! Glad I could help. Thats a great deal on your hooks!
Great information, thank you! What I'd like to know is what yarn you used to make your beanie! :)
Thanks! Here's a video on the beanie! th-cam.com/video/RXqDZeU-uWM/w-d-xo.html

Hello Friend! Thank you for watching even tho there probably isn’t a Black Friday in Australia……do you have something similar? I’m curious!

Hobbii has sales on for black Friday, granted, they always have sales, but they have some 50% going on. Most of the time there sales are good

I have stalked their website so much but haven’t ordered from there yet! Maybe this is my sign to do it!!! 😃
Thanks for the shopping tip!
I'd love to know if your audience knows anything about sites like WeCrochet (aka KnitPicks) or LoveCrafts.
I absolutely love Knit Picks! It’s one of my absolute favorites!
