I am 75 and I just learned this SIGN. I now know if ever I saw this signal from anyone’s hand I’d know to contact the authorities to get help for that person! Never too old to help!! 🎉

i’ve found myself in 3 relationships where i was kept isolated and could never be left alone not even for a second. and they seem to not have human emotions like empathy or an understanding of their grandiose delusions of grandeur. couldn’t talk on the phone and speak truth to anyone etc. it’s truly amazing their capabilities to constantly monitor a persons every move and predict any scenario where i might try to escape. even in public i would tell people to help me and they would not because they would listen to my partner(s) saying everything is fine. soon as the door would shut back at our (car, hotel,house,) eyes would turn black and i would be reminded of what would happen if i try it again. total hell
On a flight, you never get the can, they always give it to you in a plastic glass. And I have never seen red bull on a flight. This was just a Dramatization
I hope and pray with all my might, spirit, body and soul that any of should ever have to go through this - I did and no one came for me- but at least now it’s like a universal sign for help❤️❤️

I saw a clip where this signal is taught in schools. I don’t know if all schools teach this but they showed a child doing this because a man that was not her father kept trying to get her to leave with him.

No one is bothering to teach the sign you mentioned, so this IS a good teaching tool and sign! I had 4 years of ASL in college, attended church services for the hearing impaired, and worked in a preschool with deaf children. I did not learn or encounter the 'official' sign that you mentioned in any of those situations. We should be doing whatever it takes to save lives!

The video is just to make people aware of the hand sign. If u see someone making the sign - it could be someone walking down the street - not necessarily just on a plane. The hand signal has become the universal signal for help. Teach ur children the signal so if they r in need of help they know to use it so their captor doesn't know they r trying to get help. It could save their life!!

I was clearly in distress when I asked a flight attendant to be moved to another seat. It was done and my travel companion for the remainder of the flight was an Air Marshal. We had a lovely conversation and she advised me to dump the chump. Which I did.

Ofc it's staged, but for a reason. To emulate real life situations, that DO really happen all the time! I'm so glad to see people intervene and help, I've been taking my own ASL but, wow it's hard to do! I took 3 lessons and only remember a handful of words, and I've never tried spell signing, just the whole words/phrases! It's good to know these things, so thank you! 🙏💯
I learned ASL in my early 30s and it's good to learn. Keep at it and practice as much as you can with YT videos. I went to court once with a friend who was deaf, and the court did not have a translator there for her and I had to translate!!! I was just learning it and did 80% finger spelling and it took me forever!! Lol but so glad I learned!

Good to see they are teaching those survival connuncations skills. A few years ago, a gir's life was saved because she was able to signal to other motorists passingby she was in trouble. One of the motorists recognized the sign and called for 911 until police were able to block the kinapper's car and rescue the girl.
It is a good message, so people will know how to ask for help if they need it. I just can't help laughing at all these people blessing and praising the actors for helping the poor lady acting out the role of a victim. But again, its a great public service announcement that needs to be heard.
I know exactly her that poor lady feels. I lived 52yrs. Of abuse and didn’t know what to do . I had no family or friends that I could turn to . No one would believe what I was going through. This educational video should be shared as much as possible. Victims need to know that they have nonverbal actions that will bring help.

Ofc it's staged, but for a reason. To emulate real life situations, that DO really happen all the time! I'm so glad to see people intervene and help, I've been taking my own ASL but, wow it's hard to do! I took 3 lessons and only remember a handful of words, and I've never tried spell signing, just the whole words/phrases! It's good to know these things, so thank you! 🙏💯
I learned ASL in my early 30s and it's good to learn. Keep at it and practice as much as you can with YT videos. I went to court once with a friend who was deaf, and the court did not have a translator there for her and I had to translate!!! I was just learning it and did 80% finger spelling and it took me forever!! Lol but so glad I learned!

Good to see they are teaching those survival connuncations skills. A few years ago, a gir's life was saved because she was able to signal to other motorists passingby she was in trouble. One of the motorists recognized the sign and called for 911 until police were able to block the kinapper's car and rescue the girl.
