Dude! I had a 1/2” tube in a decorative fountain that was kinked and frustrated the heck out of me. Was all set to go to Home Depot, figured I would try TH-cam. This worked perfectly! Thanks so much!!
Thank you !One tip to add: your technique Worked extremely well i had fifteen feet of reinforced vinyl tubing that was flattened and twisted from being rolled in the box. i didn’t have a big enough pot of water.
i boiled water in kettles and poured it slowly over the tubing and then gradually pulled it out straight. also i actually ended up pouring the water into the tube repeatedly.....eventually the whole tube straightened out
I just took seven kinks out of a clear vinyl siphon hose I received from Fleabay. My wife pulled on a section of hose while I heated around a kink with the blow dyer until it resumed its original round shape (about 30 seconds). The I cooled the section under a faucet of cool tap water. The whole process took less than ten minutes and now the siphon works.
I used a heat gun from Harbor Freight and it worked well too. Probably wouldn’t have thought about it if I hadn’t seen this video. Thx.
I've had the same issue with the same "Home Depot" folded up ol' clear plastic /vinyl hose....I dipped the "kinked " section into the pot of boiling water for about 30 seconds at a time then ran the hose over to the cold water outlet of my kitchen sink but not without stretching the hose.
I have 10' of hose 1" inner diameter and more than half is flat from home depot rollup packaging. Have you tried pouring boiling hot water down the tube for a little bit?
Oh wow! That’s awesome 😎
You could leave the vinyl in for hours because water only goes to 212 degrees. Sadly, it won't stretch or distort because it would be nice to easily shape it. As you said, it has great memory and this is an effective way to restore it. Thanks.
Great tip!
Love the stream too.
Thanks Paul, it's about to get soooo much better. This new tank is going to be incredible. The sump is almost ready. All I have left is lighting build; glass build, and cycling. Grrr

Would it burn the tube if it touches the pot surface? does it release toxic fume when boiling?
