sick video, I have a 821 myself will probably keep it forever exept to upgrade to a 1200r. Termi is just the best choice IMO, personally I went with a Competition Werkes because of price point but damn its loud!

Cool man, thanks for liking! I'm thinking this may be my forever bike/ grow old with me. It's just the perfect machine once someone outgrows climbing onto an uncomfortable pure sportbike.

Wow, how did you get it to power wheelie like that? DTC and ABS settings?

Just DCT turned down, sport power mode and abs down as low as can be set. I wasnt wear a helmet so got to keep low key. I wish you turn this stuff off at times but guess you got to pay a lot more price tag to get that ability.

    That does sound good!
A word of caution, a friend of mine who had this same bike w/ a Termi, insists that it gave him Tinnitus…I’ve been thinking about riding w/earplugs now.

It is loud but not stupid harley open pipe obnoxious thank the lord. I've damaged my ears likely long before this. Motocross racing, guns, remote control 2 stroke toys, chainsaw...Earplugs/ear protection from a young age would be always the safe bet. Remenmber this setup does come with the termi baffles that really tone down the edge of this exhaust. I think it tones it down just too much. Would be great if like performance cars these days where there was an exhaust sound button, race mode sound, quiet mode, or sport sound level.

Nice review! I'm more and more inclined to get an 821 over larger displacement models (except for the top line 1200Rs, maybe?)

Well for me it came down to cost as this fit into my realistic budget. The other preowned bikes with similar care with low miles at Ducati Dallas showroom where 15,000 to 30,000. All their used bikes look and ride like brand new.

Hi! Do you know if remapping is needed?

    • @GettingthruLife

From past experience wirh many, many motorcycles and cars, it's not super maditory, but to have it run the best and benefit from the added power and torque, then should consider using the included with new exhaust the ecu tweak. Yes, it can get more expensive (exhaust + dealership labor) but that's why I bought one with this already done:) I bought from a reputable Ducati Dealership who installed exhaust and serviced the bike from where is was bought new.
Soom will be my 5 yr belt tension adjust. Pretty expensive but the bike is definitely worth it.

@@GettingthruLife do I need something to do the remapping by myself? Or should I take the moto to Ducati?

@gabrielmolocea you need the ducati specific software to make changes to a ducati motorcycle. Some independent motorcycle tuners have the software and knowledge but of course Ducati dealerships are usually the primary choice.

    Hi,
I got my 821 monster few months ago. I absolutely love my bike.
How do you keep the exhaust pipes shiny.

    • @GettingthruLife
      @GettingthruLife  ปีที่แล้ว +1

Thank for commenting. I'm not sure what shinny means. Even brand new from the factory there isn't any polished or super reflective surface on the header portion or the actual silencer sections. The exhaust pipes section just turns a dull bronze color and that is normal. You can clean if you want with WD40 to help remove contaminants but do so when cooled down. Armor All, plastic cleaner or WD40 to shine the plastic/composite heatshield.

      Thank you for your reply.
What I meant by shiny was basically , how can I keep the metal part of the exhaust in a silver kind of state? Is it normal for it to get discoloured after some time? How often do you use wd40 to clean it? I'm a biker lady and would like to look after my bike the best as I can :-)

@Ania The header pipes on this motorcycle leading back to the end mufflers section just turn dullish or dis-color over time from the high heat and then cooling from the motor running. Happens to pretty much all exhaust systems but with different results based off the type of metal used. Many motorcycles with chrome exhausts have pipes within pipes with a gap in between, which the other most surface is the one chromed or shinny.
It would be more difficult and super time consuming to keep the exhaust pipes grey colored/a more satin finish. To actually make it truly uniform look likely have to remove the exhaust system so can get to all the surface to polish/buff. You'd be spending hours doing so once a week. One way would be to use a Scotch-Brite type pad or a lsteel wool material with say a can of WD40 oil based lubricant and rub the whole surface in a similar pattern which would produce a more clean, refined unheated look. You could polish the pipes to a high luster too but over time they will become discolored again.
