Steven Gerrard has claimed his players were antagonised by Scott Brown during Celtic's ill-tempered 2-1 win over Rangers on Sunday.
Gerrard believes both sides need to be punished after a typically fiery Old Firm clash ended with two of his players red-carded. However, Gerrard did confirm that he'd be punishing Alfredo Morelos after he was sent off for the fifth time this season.

Exactly. It's not illegal to celebrate anywhere on the pitch. It's not illegal to talk to the opposition. Provocation is a result of perception and you cannot physically act on perception; because that is against the rules. What Scott Brown does and what many rangers players have done in their own time is not illegal. You can't hit someone just because you feel hard done to or slighted, which is what rangers players and fans have done far too much in their time.

I understand that many families have parents and siblings which support one or the other and that’s as it should be, they have no segregation between fans in local derbies and it’s probably the least volatile trouble free footballing rivalry.
Take the time to read some of the football history of the city and I’m sure you’ll learn something.

As everyone knows, Morelos came to Rangers from Finnish "major" team HJK, which happens to be arch enemy of my favourite team KuPS in Finnish Premier League called "Veikkausliiga". Already in the beginning of the season I said Morelos has undoubted skill and talent, but he´s not playing with full deck of cards, it´s really easy to make him lose his temper, no matter how much it might cost his team. And I thougth Gerrard would get him sorted out, to concentrate playing his best level and improving. But no, again and again, his ego comes first. Rangers have a diamond in him, if someone makes a brainchange operation to him. He needs to learn, he didn´t learn in Finland, he isn´t learning in Scotland, and if he eventually doesn´t, he´ll play on fifth tier of Scottish football.

Last season we got hammered off them 5-0, 4-0 etc and yesterday with 10 men at their ground we looked (in the 2nd half) like we could have snatched at least a point. Thats a massive improvement and even though we got beat i enjoyed the game it was a real Old Firm game.

A major difference between Celtic and Rangers is that Celtic actually keep calm and maintain a sense of professionalism. Both teams provoke, every team provokes at some point but it’s how the opposition reacts to it that makes the difference. In the last old firm Morelos kicks Scott Brown in the balls, he gets up and moves on, this old firm Brown clips Morelos’s heels and he chooses to start throwing elbows. That’s your comparison there folks, if you buy into this whole “Scott Brown is a villain” act then you’re either gullible or completely brain washed.
