Hi Mizz, Excellent job on yet another guide! Our group cleared last week, so I thought I'd share a couple of experiences that we had that might also be some extra helpful tips mainly on the add phases. 1. The adds tail attacks can be triggered just like Spike Flail (I can't remember if it's also called Spike Flail). The good thing about this is that while they doing this, they cease attacks on the tank meaning the phase is not as healer intensive. 2. On the 2nd add phase, we chose to kill both adds on our OT first. They then moved over to kill my adds while the OT was picking up his 2nd set. Killing both adds on a single tank's side means that the melee aren't wasting any time crossing over the arena. It also means that there is no risk of adds shifting and blasting the raid with damage because only one tank has to shift to pick up both adds. The other advantage is once the MT's adds are down, the healers only have to focus 1 tank for the rest of the phase. Obviously both strats are viable, so the key is choosing the one that works best for your group. Again, keep up the good work and looking forward to seeing your T11/12/13 kills! - Your neighbor on Behemoth (Mist Ward 5 ftw) Jager Meister
Just wanted to say glad you are still putting out guides. I prefer yours over Mr. Happy cause while his stuff is very good, hes just a bit too wordy for me. I prefer the mellow vibe and humor you put into your vids. Keep em coming.
***** Lol, i'm not trying to get in her pants kid... i'm married. How old are you? I compliment women all the time without the intention of hooking up with them. Every time i do they either smile and say thank you,or smile and blush, women for the most part like to hear compliments from men, it's perfectly natural but i find the younger generation is getting too wrapped up in that feminazi bullshit and i feel sorry for you.
sibbie1023 Saying the word sexy can actually be considered sexual harassment. Sexy after all is using the word SEX, and a lot of people get freaked out by it. Saying it's soothing or a nice voice is different. The people who get upset over a compliment like that are silly.
Nice job. I like that your idea of tank swapping regardless of who gets heat lightning. Two things though, if you have individual backups for tether and both you and your back up are selected for both tether and charge, you will need someone else. We just have a 3rd and 4th person assigned as general back ups. The other is that in the final phase, I believe it's always going to be Heat Lightning --> Tether every other cast with the other two combos being random.
Also, end of second ad phase occurs once you push 48%, if you're not pressed for time, you can stop DPS and use extra time to prep for last phase with Ballad/Paeon.
A good video, as usual xD The only thing I'd make a comment on is for Wild Charge, it does less damage the further the target is, so having the people stacking for Wild Charge stack up as close to the target as possible limits the amount of damage the person takes (helped my tanks not die to the Wild Charge since they're a little undergeared)
Another great guide from Mizzteq. :D One tip to add in order to help all you young healers get through this fight easier: right before going into both add phases have your WHM start casting Stoneskin on everyone except the tanks. As long as everyone has ~5k max HP and doesn't get hit by anything the Stoneskin will block Prey making it a non-issue. Depending on your Critical Rip timing you may have to Presence of Mind and have the SCH solo heal both tanks for a little bit. If you choose to do it like this the SCH should only heal the tanks and ignore Prey unless a DPS gets hit with Crackle Hiss or Spike Flail from one of the adds. If a DPS gets hit they should be topped up and have Stoneskin reapplied by the WHM ASAP. Doing Stoneskin before the adds come up, and keeping it through the add phase, means that there's more time to help DPS the adds when there's only one set left. It also means that you will spend less time Stoneskinning before Electric Burst. Regen + Faerie heals will keep the tank alive when one set is left, with maybe a spot Lustrate being needed depending on how hard the tank is getting hit, so feel free to DPS until the AoE.
Wow, a Turn 10 guide this fast? Fantastic job. I so want to get into Turn 10 it looks like so much fun. So does 11 and 12 (although 12 is probably a bit beyond my DPS skill - I've heard the deeps check is insane on it)
Thanks for the info as usual :) My raid team start a practice run on T10 right now (since we all can farm T9 without any serious consequences) but to be honest. This 'Final Raid' makes previous Turns become a fairground. The mechanic seems approachable but penalties're more deadlier than it used to be.Hope to finish the raid before Heavensward :)
Forgot to mention that the daughters are the source of prey in the add phase. Killing daughters first = no prey for the remaining add phase = ez healing.
Your notes about assigning players to always soak a tether is misleading. You should mention that it only applies to tether&charge combo, as you can't assign who will and will not be getting targetted by heat lightning in the other combo.
My mind is so overloaded with too much going on and let alone trying to remember much that was said of this fight. Not sure if and when i'll be tanking this. Still a bit of MSQ's to get through before can get to Heavensward so i'm sure this is somewhere on the way there.
shape type excluded, all of the raid arenas are fairly simple because of the ps3 support i believe. once they give it up in 3.0 we should see some pretty interesting settings.
+Michael Mckernan nah. SE has a fascination with circles and balls. I rather the arenas be circles then some weird ass star or a organic shape that makes no dam sense. Like seriously what do you want it to be? A star? A octagon? Or maybe just random lines that intercross each other? :/
Kiya Gamble I'd prefer the boss environments to be varied, open, legitimately part of the dungeon they're in rather than simply a sectioned-off circle, and actually have environmental factors as part of the mechanics, like many WoW raid bosses.
Corinn Heathers It seems you've forgotten that t1 and t5 exist, both varied areas, t1 even has different height elevations, and t5 uses the terrain for mechanics (going into the ditch for divebombs) But yes I can agree that the coil fights of late have been a little stagnant.

Best guides NA right here. Between you and Fatboss, no raid is safe :D Thanks for the great guides.
The first 30 seconds were relentless with puns
These videos are an absolute lifesaver.
>__< 5 puns in the first 30 seconds. I'm not shocked though.
I love your voice, no perve it's just really soothing and your guides rock! Thanks :D
She does have a sexy voice though, you can say it - it's called a compliment.
***** people like you make it impossible to approach women for many men out there. it IS a compliment. what the fuck.

Your videos are our static's required viewing, Mizzteq. They're the go-to standard, at least for the players that I know. Kudos!
Love the Drawings!! ^^, Great Guide as usual, Sharing with Free Company as Always!
....this fight scares me... in a very good way. lol. Thank you for the guides, Mizz :) Please keep up the good work.
So, the first couple of puns were expected but, I got annoyed at the next few. Then, they just kept coming, and I was honestly impressed.

Thanks! I was looking forward to this! Keep up the truly amazing work. You make the best guides out there.

Hey thanks for the guides, they're helping me a bunch. Also, the music is always great! I got some new tunes thanks to you.
A good video, as usual xD

So, any idea how you handle prey with a WHM healer nowadays when Stoneskin doesn't exist?
Awesome guide, keep them going. And congrats on the kill :D
Turn 10 was a one shot for us, thanks MTQ.
Another great guide from Mizzteq. :D

I'm really jealous of your PHD in MS Paint :D
Excellent guide. Very easy to follow

Wonderful guide, clear and informative. Fear the scribbles.

So many puns in the first 25 seconds lol

This is an optional dungeon in between ARR and Heavensward i think.
So unless you really wanna do it, you don't need to
soooo they made it impossible to do?
Edit: 2 years later, this has to be my favorite fight.
The puns..... so. many. puns.....

I feel like there were too many electricity jokes right at the start, there.
I say keep the puns coming :D
Shocking indeed.
All those puns, too much... TOO MUCH!!!!!
Over a year later and Square-Enix still can't make a boss room that isn't a circle?
Seriously?
shape type excluded, all of the raid arenas are fairly simple because of the ps3 support i believe.

Michael Mckernan Damn PS3 holding everything back...
