I didnt even know half-lotus was there as a beginner level stretch! I feel foolish, but better informed & eager to give the set a chance. Thankfully, I'm used to those feelings when it comes to Yoga. Thank you Mrs. MacGregor.
Thank you for your response Kino! The pain has subsided a bit - but it is still there. If I touch the back of my arm - it feels "tingly." Weird! Good news is I'm geting deeper into Marichi D than ever! Hoping this discomfort is just an Ashtanga growing pain.
Thank you Kino,I still working on my lotos I like the asanas with twisting but without good lotos I can't do Marichiasana D, do you thing that beginers should spend some time tryng to be more flexable instead of doind every day the first series? Actualy I do the first series about 90 min and then I do 30 minutes just some extra work on increasing my flexability.Namaste

I wanted to ask you something: I have quite a solid half lotus position on the right side, and a tight one on the left side (I can't even get my knee to touch the floor), so I was wondering, how do I loosen up my left side? Should I work differently on each side? Thank you very much in advance!
detailed description very nice ... but i hav a doubt.. when we breathe we breathe through lungs and not by belly so its like our ribs enlarges upwards and forward.. but only the diaphram contacts upwards
I've been struggling with this for a year...I feel like my (not so small) belly is in the way. I cannot seem to get it past my lotus foot enough to twist fully and wrap. Any tips for Mary d with a belly besides dieting? In sucking in and holding Uddiyana Bandha as much as I can.
Also I wanted to ask you,Do you thing I can practice Ashtanga till I do first series at good level without teacher,because there are no good teachers here at all ,but I am spending daily 1 or 2 hors waching videos :))) My opinion is thet I have good improvement and I lost also for 1 year about 14 kilos also by practising 40 hours per month.
