I love seeing a random Fred Armisen. You can never predict him any more. I also love that the entire purpose of this sketch was to try to get Natasha Lyonne to break.
I'm guessing the original joke was going to be "How do we know that he's really dead?" "Hmm, well, only one way to find out!" Shoots him again. But then I bet somebody found out that Natasha Lyonne is ticklish and rewrote it.
The fact that the establishing shot is of New York but the view out the window is of Los Angeles really just adds to the surrealism of the actual plot 😂
And at the end, the CGI stick figures falling out of the office are of a guy and a blonde woman. Obviously from something they had done before, but works for the surreal vibe here.
This sketch taught me everything I need to know about emergency care: 1. A person is dead if and only if they do not respond to tickling 2. To perform medical tickling, tickle both sides of the body while saying, "tickle, tickle, tickle," otherwise it doesn't count
I was thinking the same thing. It felt like the whole skit was just meant to mess with Natasha, and it shows how much they must love her in real life. Loved this skit!
@@666Mrfrisco did you see the name of the sketch or the movie 9 to 5? They kidnapped him and fantasized about Killing him, but they ran the company without him. I think they just made excuses about where he was. Yes, they added in the Weekend at Bernie’s twist of shooting him and pretending he was alive.😂
@@batgurrl I don't see how that changes the obvious references to Weekend at Bernie's. They had to give a nod to it given the similarities, and they did. Good for them.
I feel like Fred had a lot to do with the writing of this one. Having dated Natasha for 7 years, he would know EXACTLY where she's the most ticklish. And also knowing what a pro Natasha is and that she would be very unlikely to break during this episode, he just HAD to go there! And for that, I thank you Fred Armison!! 🙏🙏🙏
I had NO idea and it makes a ton more sense now! And he’s a standup guy and she seems so sweet, no wonder they not only still seem to be great friends, but the fact she was so open to this and from him too says SO much about their relationship and now close friendship.
@@bonnieb9238 he had multiple recurring sketches: big brother, coming-of-age sitcom, romantic life at snl docuseries (where he married leslie)Leslie, and baby Yoda, just to name a few.

One of the best sketches of this season. Between Ego, Cecily and Heidi trying to laugh to Fred Armisen cameo this was funny enough to make Mr. Dooley laugh.
Did not get that vibe at all, this is a pretty funny parody of 9 to 5 and general '80s slapstick...do agree that the sketch you mentioned was gold, though. I love both of these sketches though
oh this doesn't come close to Girl's night. It's funny, but not that damn funny. Cecily wrote that sketch btw. In case you didn't know. Of course Bill adding in pushing the table across the room with the motor chair, along with other hilarious unscripted shiit.
LOVED THIS SKIT. They should do this skit again, but this time mess around with the actor whose "dead" like throw a pie in their face and stuff. to prove they are dead.
3:44 lol Cecily & Heidi dragging Natasha & falling cracked me up. And it made Cecily break! She almost never does. Natasha also broke, as did Ego & Heidi. And Fred looked like he was trying to hold it in.
This is Kyle's final sketch. I wish Kyle got a proper goodbye since along with Beck he was my favorite of the new cast era. Hope he does well post SNL. Hey, that rhymed.
I love how they're trying to make Natasha laugh, but halfway through Cecily and Heidi are dying already Also: Why do they have to say "tickle tickle tickle" when they're tickling lmao

Love when Cecily breaks. You RARELY see Heidi or Ego break, but Heidi lost it! Fred tickling Natasha was hysterical. Thought it would be a dumb sketch, but was happily wrong.
This has the same bonkers physical energy as The Fainting Couch sketch from (was it last week?). Cecily featured prominently in both, so it wouldn't surprise me if she was the main writer of both. Would love to see more of this shotgun blast silliness where the cast is having tons of fun and falling over and breaking things and straining not to break.
This is my favorite slapstick sketch they have done since Kyle and Beck’s brothers thing where they get hosed down. Natasha Lyonne has always been one of my favorite actors but she goes hard in the paint here. Her episode was incredible, but this sketch slayed me. Everything, everyone is so perfect in this. To me this is an instant classic. Heidi is so talented anyway but her ability to switch from the hottest girl you’ve ever seen to a dumb as rocks dingus in the blink of an eye…. is a true talent. I loved this - the sketch is a chaotic f**king masterpiece in my book.

Wait... Where's Melissa Villaseñor..who can impersonate Dolly Parton and Lilly Tomlin (and probably Jane Fonda)??? Dammit SNL...missed opportunity. How ya gonna do a 9 to 5 mockery without Villaseñor?
At about 3:42 When Heidi is shaking the drink, it looks like Natasha has her fingers inserted in the top of the cup and Natasha makes her drop it. Heidi is typically pretty rock solid but that really broke her. It was the second unplanned thing that I think Natasha did. The first was her trying to wipe the desk clean with her arm. I don’t think they knew that she’d be knocking that paper organizer onto the ground because it made things really difficult when they went over to that side of the set. In heels. I love the madness of this sketch so much.
That's true. Dead bodies have last moment spasms when they're tickled. Sometimes they even relieve themselves because they are having a giggling fit. I've heard about that.
