My mom could never afford much, but remember when BT3 released. I had asked my mom if I could have it. She asked the price ($49.99 then). The next day I had a dentist appointment, and after wards we were going grocery shopping at Walmart. I had to get a tooth drilled into to have a cavity filled. Needless to say, I was a bit miserable and didn’t want to be dragged around Walmart. So after the groceries were gathered, we wandered to electronics. Added some extra characters and a bit of polish on a game that was already amazing to make BT3 even better. One of my favorite memories was playing the game shortly after release, had to be late 2007 or 2008 because I was in fifth grade. I got up early for a snow day and was playing this, and then I think I went in to work with my dad because they started late. They had a CRT TV in their break room so I brought my PS2 and BT3 and continued to play at his office. I used to do that a lot but that time in particular really stands out to me. I hope 4 takes us from Dragon Ball all the way to the end of Super but harkens back to 2's World Map System and now expands upon that.
This is by far the best DBZ game made ever. I consider it the best there was, the best there is , the best there ever will be .❤😊👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👌🏼 thanks for showing the best favorite personal DBZ game of my life.
The RPG aspect of this game was so fantastic. Loved BT3 but 2 honestly had it on lock. Stacking Kiss of 18 x5 on a character to max out their stats and just fold the world in half is a feeling that couldn’t be matched.
It really resonated with me the way you told that DBZ BT2 helped you to familiarize with the DBZ mythos, the same thing happened to me while playing One Piece Grand Adventure on the GCN. That game did such a great job to present the lore, history and characters to me that I had to become a fan of the series. I used to save money buying Naruto games and dragon ball games on my GameCube and wii. I was so sad after finding out GameCube was left behind for Budokai 3 and infinite worlds. Did not regret it, 3 has a larger roster, but 2 felt different it had a lot of small details I lived that aren’t in bt3.
So much nostalgia. When this came out back in high school, me and a friend of mine beat the story mode from start to finish when school got canceled due to snow. No story mode has been able to top this one. It covered almost every saga and they put a lot of effort into the cutscenes. Something BT3 was lacking. Good memories
Look I can't really say if its a good game or not because I just played a few matches with a friend like 10 to 15 years ago? I don't really know. All I know is that it felt like fanfiction because it has SSJ3 Vegeta. They lost me at that moment and I have no interest in that game because of it. That is just completely out of character for Dragonball fans^^

This along with other games where traded in without my permission by my brother towards his PSP back in the day. This was my favorite DBZ fighting game back in the day and one of two fighting games I was actually good at. The other being Gundam battle assault 2. This one hit me in the feels, good to see it get some love.
BT2 is amazing, but BT3 is my favorite NOT because of the roster, but because it took everything BT2 did well with the gameplay and polished it that much more. By the time I got to BT3 I was well versed in the DBZ story, so playing it yet again wasn't needed, so it felt more like something to get through to get my unlocks while I can just focus on having fun 5v5 battles.
Kakarot brought back that nostalgia feeling and now Sparking Zero is gonna bring me right back to being a kid again. From all the breakdowns I've seen the gameplay is almost 1:1 it's a true sequel/reboot. It's beautiful. I really hope the devs get it to a point they feel confident in releasing it. Still no release date I don't want it rushed 🗿
"... And its still one of the best games of all time. Remaining different than Tenkaichi 3, allowing it to not become obsolete to its sequel." Is the rest of the title
Dbz is something I grew up with and it became sort of difficult to follow as I got older. The games in general did good to sort of bridge that but budokai tenkaichi 2 is what I spent most of my childhood on. Me and my friends doing tournaments on the hardest levels and playing them through even if we lost to the cpus. Just amazing. And the gameplay of the button combos and stuff was so fun I haven't touched a game since then that had that. The whole experience is so nostalgic
Yeah this one's been my favorite of the Tenkaichi games too all these years. I feel it's almost as underrated as Budokai 2 is (yeah, I happen to like the Mario Party-style story mode for being more creative compared to other DBZ games). Tenkaichi 2 was a major improvement over the first one by including in-game transformations and the world map for story mode. Sure it got quickly outclassed by Tenkaichi 3's player roster, but it still has the superior story mode.
This is my definitive Dragonball game for sure. Love that the fights the characters lose in the show you don't have to get a victory but if you do you get extra secrets. I love this game so much.
My friend gave me this game it was like the 3rd dragon ball game I played I didn’t enjoy budokai or infinite world but this game blew me away this one and the first one because of the 3d design and level of detail put into each character and their techniques it was the first dragon ball game that I ever played that I poured tens of hundreds of hours
Tenkaichi 2's soundtrack had NO business being that freakin good. There's literally only ONE thing I'd change about this game, and it's getting rid of that dumb blue swirl effect when you charge ki. Other than that, I consider this a PERFECT game.
I'm just surprised you didn't mention the unique game mechanic that made this particular game so special. You can transform and power up OR down or start in any preferred form in the beginning!!! I loved starting off as Super Trunks going super hard on opponents then after charging up to max and knocking them around a bit, I would power down to regular Super Saiyan (still being charged) and use my ultimate Rush attack as a finisher. I could usually beat down 3 enemies with minimal damage to myself when setting up 1v5 at max difficulty. The struggle for the other 2 was fun without losing too much health or stamina.
WHY DO WE NOT HAVE MODDED 3:36 2!!!!!!!!!!!! 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭 IMA SAY IT BT2 FEELS MORE POLISHED THAN 3 IDC!!!! #PleasePinThisSoModdersSee PLEASE 🙏 OH!!! Another thing on the Wii Version of BT2 it lets you map buttons of the Gamecube controller , Wii BT3 does not!!!
This game shaped my childhood and ultimate love for anime games as a teenager. I'll be 19 soon, and Im still playing this in 1080p on emulator. And hey bro we're 10 years apart, HELL YEAH
Bt2 was my fav ps2 game growing up, the music is legendary, the fighting was cool for it it's time. I really want a remaster of the 3 games after sz drops.
There are a few moments from BT2's story mode that I'll always remember but chief among them is how I just couldn't beat complete the level where you fight Cell as Super Trunks until I recruited Master Roshi and jokingly switched to Master Roshi and proceeded to destroy Cell.
My mom could never afford much, but remember when BT3 released. I had asked my mom if I could have it. She asked the price ($49.99 then). - 5 extra characters
- Graphically characters had bloom which PS2 didnt
BT2 used the pointer for a lot of moves, I still don't know why BT3 ditched that for pure waggle. BT2 played way better.
I absolutely love this game.
"... And its still one of the best games of all time. Remaining different than Tenkaichi 3, allowing it to not become obsolete to its sequel."
Is the rest of the title
2 was PEAAAAK ❤️
I feel like you talked about this game like three times already lol
This game is that good
@@udfkiddo he's talked about it three times already though. We already know how he feels about it.
Well heres one more @@philo2189
This is my definitive Dragonball game for sure. Love that the fights the characters lose in the show you don't have to get a victory but if you do you get extra secrets.
I love this game so much.
Wow… I literally just finished watching your video on the Budokai Tenkaichi series 🤣
That's the first and only game I thought "I don't know anyone who plays that better than me". Leave the challenge to anyone, I will shred you apart.
Bruh I got this at a pawn shop for my ps2 for like 3 bucks totally worth it
Didn't have 3 so this was my bread and butter,I loved the story mode
It's like retro rebound knows when the shit goes down to post
Better fighting system than 3
Better fighting system than any dragon ball game
It's very well polished but better than any dbz game? lol
@@cauliflablue3076 OMG IS THAT AN OPINION?!?
u knew exactly what u were doing with tha timing lmao
BT2 may not have the largest roster of the 3 but it's got the best music.
Perfect timing my guy
This is the stuff!
Best Tenkaichi ever!
This game was my childhood and my personal favorite out of the three
My friend gave me this game it was like the 3rd dragon ball game I played I didn’t enjoy budokai or infinite world but this game blew me away this one and the first one because of the 3d design and level of detail put into each character and their techniques it was the first dragon ball game that I ever played that I poured tens of hundreds of hours
Tenkaichi 2's soundtrack had NO business being that freakin good. There's literally only ONE thing I'd change about this game, and it's getting rid of that dumb blue swirl effect when you charge ki. Other than that, I consider this a PERFECT game.
2 definitely had the better soundtrack i also liked how you did the customization in 2.
Such a great game!!!!!!
One of the best soundtrack in a dbz game in my opinion
The timing lol
Matt knows things 🤣
He was just holding this video in the tuck for the right time
Ikr
Cause sparking yh we all know
Dang it's almost like it's intentional
I'm just surprised you didn't mention the unique game mechanic that made this particular game so special. You can transform and power up OR down or start in any preferred form in the beginning!!! I loved starting off as Super Trunks going super hard on opponents then after charging up to max and knocking them around a bit, I would power down to regular Super Saiyan (still being charged) and use my ultimate Rush attack as a finisher. I could usually beat down 3 enemies with minimal damage to myself when setting up 1v5 at max difficulty. The struggle for the other 2 was fun without losing too much health or stamina.
Put HOURS into this game as a kid and gonna do the same this summer when I get my modded Wii U updated🤝🏽
WHY DO WE NOT HAVE MODDED 3:36 2!!!!!!!!!!!! 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭 IMA SAY IT BT2 FEELS MORE POLISHED THAN 3 IDC!!!!
#PleasePinThisSoModdersSee PLEASE 🙏
OH!!!
DBZ budokai tenkaichi 2 was my first dbz game and it holds too much nostalgia for me to forget 😮💨🔥
IMMACULATE TIMING
How
@@dantemitsoyu977 the new budokai trailer dropped like 2 minutes before this vid went live
Shenron on the disc art brought back some memories man.
why some people like 2 more? i have to replay these
My favorite Tenkaichi, but only because I played it before Budokai 3. Had no idea that style of story mode was done in that game first
I too still play this game, it's one of my favorites in the entire DB series and of course after Tenkaichi 3, but who cares, both are awesome!!
I re-played this a few months ago through Android emulator on the Samsung Galaxy tab S9. Such a fun and long campaign to play through the story.
The best thing about this game is the custom fighting styles for literally every character OMG
