  • After receiving a breast cancer diagnosis, hair loss was low on the list of concerns facing New Jersey resident Jessica Heline. But upon learning of the Paxman Scalp Cooling system from doctors at Monmouth Medical Center, Jessica decided to give the system a try as a means of minimizing hair loss and fostering faster regrowth of the hair she did lose during her treatment.

I improved my hair by doing these: Having more and more Vitamin C in form of orange, lemon, and kiwi, 7-8 hrs of adequate sleep everyday, have nuts such as almonds, walnuts, or peanuts in limited, you can also eat fish like salmon. Exercise a minimum of 20 - 30 mins daily. Using mild, pure oil, neem wooden comb, massager for scalp by liitleextra coconion twice a week. All this is good for hair fall control.

What is sad is that this is not usually covered with insurance in America and can be very expensive out of pocket...anywhere between 1200.00 to 2200.00 dollars. These advancements are great but seem grossly unfair that it is not affordable or covered partially by insurance for most chemo patients.

Struggling with my hair growth now. So so curly!! What to do. Your hair looks fantastic. Good luck to you, fellow warrior. Keep fighting. I was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia in January and am now in remission. Praise the Lord! He is so good. Stay strong...you have the fire in you.❤️

Christina use hair oil and then gel to help shape it and train it to lay flat or go in a certain direction. Gardiner Hair products has a morrocan oil Target or Walmart. I spike the top and lay the sides down ward. Super cute 😊

@@summerlandon7414 thank you! I will try that. Did you trim/cut the curls? It is tempting but I’m not sure if it would help with the bushiness. Thanks again!

Thank you for sharing your story.❤️ I was diagnosed with breast cancer, stage 2 with no family history in my family. I start chemo Friday. I have the same emotions as you did. Why me? How? What about my son and husband who need me? It is scary. All of the emotions are real and normal. After many come to Jesus moments I understand that it’s not God’s plan to hurt me or punish me. This is to make me stronger and more appreciate of my faith and his love for me. I agree with you 100%…we do what we have to do to get it over with and move on with our life. Hope you are doing well. Love and prayers to you and your family.💕🙏

My first chemo is coming up in less than two weeks and am just considering to chop all my hair off because I do not want clumping and the feeling of, "I knew this would happen but I did not know I would react this way".
I will see if this is available in Ecuador where my treatment is but if not, hopefully I will just come out on the better side of the statistics.

Yep this rarely works to stop the hair loss I watch person after person come into the infusion room and pay extra for this unproven procedure, while they get the same statistical results as a group who doesn’t receive the treatment. I’m 2yr stage IV and that is what I’ve seen. I have lost a bit of hair but it stopped after the first 3 treatments I exercise vigorously at least 1hr every other day and especially the day after chemo “ouch” I don’t know why that works but I wear a stocking cap in the freezing infusions room so go figure. Don’t lose hope if what you’re experiencing isn’t all you hoped for my daughter gets a phd this fall and I’m here.

I appreciate the honesty and I’m happy for the author that she is happy with her outcome.
It makes me very sad though because this is why I want nothing to do with other cancer patients: I have to hear about their reasons for living such as family and loved ones.(I have neither but I have critters)
I have multiple physical disabilities as well and these are unlikely to change so I questioned the quality of life both during and after chemo.(for TNBC stage two b)
I am seriously thinking of either not treating it or finding someone that will allow me to do targeted radiation and surgery only.
I value quality of life before quantity after a lifetime of chronic illness. I think that is something that has breast cancer videos skip over as they try to be true leaders to push people to fight the condition regardless of their baseline quality of life.(fully expecting people to be down in May because I do not support chemo or all this other barbaric stuff)
But again I’m glad the author is able to encourage some people

Guys im 3 mounths after chemotherapy. I lose all my hair ofc. Before
I had very thicky, stiff hair. Now (after 3 mounths) I can see my hair is very fine like a baby's. I have also little receding hairline. Do you guys recommend cuting hair often or rather wait. If yes how lomg? Did your hair get stiffer over time? Big thanks and a lot of health to all of you.

It depends on what type and stage of cancer it is. Best to speak with a doctor to see what options are out there. Hope this helps and hope all is well. ❤ Sending love from the PH 🇵🇭
