      This whole series is extremely helpful. Whoever thought to do this needs multiple awards. I wish similar things were made for more conditions.
      And I absolutely agree that the doctor is extremely talented and articulate. He does a great job with the videos - he’s credible, personable, and warm. The scripts are well written too. There has to be a team putting this together, though. I’d love to see how the roles break down!

      I was diagnosed with stage 2 ductal BC on July 23, 2020 and had a double mastectomy on sept 2,2020. I did not require chemo but am on hormone blockers for 5 years. But I worry every day IF my Doctor did enough for my type of cancer. It’s all SO confusing and I think a lot of Doctors forget we don’t know what they know. I so hope you get more answers. 🙏

    According to videos by women who are having treatments, the side effects of chemo can be debilitating, including headaches so bad they have to wrap their hairless heads in ice. Hormonal therapy is even worse. Women say their joints hurt so much they can't walk, and that lasts for 10 years. I am ER+, PR+, HER2+. But I am 66. I doubt I will get chemo if I can't do it orally, and I'm pretty sure I won't do hormonal therapy. It's about quality of life at my age.

    what are the usually used cytotoxic chemotherapy for breast lumpectomy ? is it superior to radiotherapy ? if a patient took her first course of Adriamycin + cyclophosphamide and developed severe gastric pain on the second day not responding to proton - pump inhibitors , antiemetics as ondansetron + metoclopramide and antispasmodics , then on 3rd day admitted to hospital as a case of gastric bleeding and managed conservatively , now what should be done for the second course ?

    So if my wife's oncologist at Virginia Cancer Specialists has not ID'd her for chemo, but has given her estrogen blockers and Ibrance, can I rely on them to have made a good decision on that? Or do I need to ask more questions. Sorry to be so direct, but I have a 5 year old son that loves his mom, and I can't explain if I screw this up and lose her.

I seemed to have not understood in this video, but it seems very basic and good and I love the way you have explained it. And is this info still good for 2021? I am just seeing this. I was diagnosed with IDC stage 1. I had a lumpectomy, I am estrogen and progesteron receptors positive and HER2 ngagive. When they run the test in my tummor they said I only benefit from chemotherapy >1% then my oncologist said that other studies shows that I might benefit 6 to 9% from chemotherapy. My BRCA is negative, lymph nodes were negative and margines were negative. Now the recurrance was 25% and because of that some doctors say " yes" to chemo and others say " no to chemo" . I star radiation next week and honestly my entired body said no to chemo, and honestly I am not sure if I am making the right decision. I am 46 and they will put me in hormone therapy after radiation. I am not sure if saying "no" to chemo was the right decision.

      Chemo Spread all areas blood Flow
      & Kill wherever cell is
      Radiation often limited to sites only
      some time One ttt contradict
      Some time both give for Aggresive ttt

    My next question: since I’ll be losing one breast - cuz I’m small breasted, n the tumor is like half my breast size, n they want to put me on estrogen blockers, n BRCA genes can cause me to possibly have ovarian cancer, would it make sense to not do the estrogen blockers n get a full hysterectomy??

    • @kristinreese2281
      @kristinreese2281 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I was told by my surgeon that you would still have to take the blockers because estrogen is produced ( in smaller amounts) by other parts of the body.
