Most of the time you fought against militia, hyspaspists, hoplites, helepolis and toxotes. Wouldn't cheiroballista, katapelte, turma be better than arcus, contarius, murmillo. Or is it too hard to micro that?
Cheiroballista in late game is horrible. Expensive, slow and you can't possibly push with it, just defend. Idk why you said katapeltes since they're only good against cav. And turma in late game? Seriously???
@@paulmuntean1459 Cheiroballista is slow? They are faster than arcus. Katapelte have +150% damage against siege weapons so they are very good against helepolis. Turma against toxotes. Toxotes are better than arcus so fighting toxotes with arcus isn't a solution either.
Well, Bolt was afraid that destroying buildings so he didn't target the production buildings which not only save Poseidon lots of resources and manpower (villagers to rebuild) but also allows Poseidon to trade so much better than Bolt's army since Bolt kept having to fight in the enemy home ground and wasted huge amount of gold. Technically, Bolt was trying to do a decisive attack style. Meanwhile, Poseidon's militia allows the opponent to do trench warfare which counters Bolt's strat really well. This works even better against Atlantean since they lacks a good long range siege weapon.
I think the Poseidon having access to divine blood is bonkers. Its almost like he is playing with a handicap! Would having a few cheiroballista help during points of the game like @1:13:17 ? I think the only way to win against Poseidon is ignoring the buildings and the army and going after the TCs and villagers. His score was higher than yours since @1:00:48 though you had the upper hand. You would have finished him off right around the 1 hr mark if your pop didn't go down at crucial times. Great play to out spam poseidon though! Gaia OP!! :D
For cases like this, if my opponent wants to play trench war, I will play with him. Since pushing has been met unsuccessful, I will just wall up layers upon layers within my own territory to give them a place to fall back to. Then just systematically crush my opponent. :D Wood isn't infinite so just keep hacking down buildings and surely one day he will lose. :D
I agree, I think he shoud have systematically targeted all production buildings. Seeing how high the wood price in the market got, it was both players buying it in large amounts. But the opponent did not have to replace his buildings nearly as often as Boit.
They are spamming fanatics but they can only be trained at palace so you can't rely solely on them. Also they are very good against infantry and cavalry but against anything else murmillos are better.
mainly because they come from pallaces, the same place you train siege... so it's really conflicting unless you somehow get 10+ pallaces up lol it's very say though, greek can spam their special units on regular millitary buildings (myrmidon, gastraphetes and heitaroi), egyptian have separate buildings for siege and norse just... yeah I guess norse if also fucked on this department lol
It's a little counterproductive as it'll prevent your towers/castles from firing at things passing by if there are units attacking it. It's situationally useful, but more often than not you can just build another ranged building beside it and they'll cover each other
I don't understand both players 95% of the game had like 100 favor all time, and for almost 2 hours of game, they toght did not manage to made 10 myth units...

well gaia can just pop 3 heroes out of nowhere and deal with the myth units, greek also has very strong heroes especially the heroic and mythic ones, so I don't see the point of trying to spam myth units here... the only myth units I like to spam is something like mummy to have insta-kill on OTHER myth units though lol
That was horrible. Not the game or the plays, but the insane war of grinding attrition, it was exhausting to watch this. Is a "Wonder Win" possible with this mode?
Hehe, I'm glad you got to suffer as I once did. Wonder was out of the question from my perspective the only way forward was to continue to pressure him everywhere. If I go for wonder then that allows him to move forward and lock to map up. Once he does that my ability to stop a push becomes very limited, even with Gaia lush. If he goes for a wonder then he runs out of eco during that time and I push everywhere very quickly.

Regarding Wonders, it feels like they are an overall underused tactical asset, especially considering the value you can gain, if prepared for, by catching the enemy off-balance and forcing them into making costly blunders infiltrating a wall+tower+terrain reinforced Wonder territory (covered in Fog of War). Imagine being a Poseidon and having a great wall of armories (4 militia each) protecting while the enemy siege perpetually creates more militia in their frantic effort to destroy your Wonder. The potential giggles/griefing factor here is incredible. And griefing is the proper word for something this disgusting... 😂 Fighting war on your terms for a moderate hit to your eco production? A potential tactic for stubborn players, who did a titan trade early on perhaps?
I've never seen anything like it in online AOM game. I think he is cheating, playing with handicap. That allows him keep amount of villagers at low number, so he can harass you more. Of course, there is Poseidon militia also.
