this has brought tears tae my eyes, grew up in Elgin and have played Elgin,Lossie, Hopeman and spey bay. this club wasnt in existence back then , I emigrated to Australia in 86, looks magnicent with Covesea Lighthouse on view, beautiful, love the videos guys great entertainment
Played Cove Sea by accident just after lock down. Went to play Elgin and couldn't get on. Went to Cove Sea, and like Simon said, we played it twice. Absolute gem of a course and the video can't tell the story of that piece of land. Its amazing. Well worth the time and effort if you can get there. Think it was only £10 when we played. Hats off the Mr and Mrs Burnett. 👏👏👏
Played a round there last year, after a round at Spey Bay in the morning. Great fun! Talking about hidden gems, you should visit Spey Bay. It deserves every visitor it can get!
Covesea what a fantastic course. Simon is not only a wonderful golfer but he also comes across a lovely friendly guy. I’d love to see him on the channel as much as possible. I’m loving the hidden gem series. It would be a joy to play any of those courses. A huge 👍
This IS, I must say, THEE most fun I never had! One of thee best video's, you have sent us. Except for the earlier video's with the original crew. Thank you Liam, camera man, Mr. Barlow, and Mr. Payne. 21,000 jealous golfers?
The Hidden Gems series has been absolutely banging and this one just tops everything Brilliant having Paynie over and a great crack between the 3 of you 👏
You could watch a thousand golf videos and never see a more enjoyable nine holes. Full marks to the chap who created such a wonderful spot. Can't wait to get up there one day.
"Gorillas in the mist" 🤣 What a fantastic hidden gem - bit gutted it's the other side of the UK from me ! They've done a fantastic job creating a course that follows the stunning natural landscape - one to remember if I ever find myself in the area 👏
Late to watching this particular hidden gem series but loving the videos, the beauty of the country and creativity on this course especially. Am really hoping to do a UK golf vacation at some point (live in the US) and will absolutely be loking to play some of these courses. Thanks so much for featuring them Liam!
Well !! All I can Say is you three "coves" went to "see?" Covesea where one man's dream is the dream of any golfer to play such an imaginative test. I felt your passion in the video. The best watch of the series. Well done Joe and you players in front of the camera.
Liam iv been following ur channel since you had only 5000 subscribers, iv watch you play all over and so many courses, but I have to say this course has to be the best iv ever seen , I don't think you'll ever top this course, utter respect to andy who build this course
OMG this is unforgettable this course how can you do that good a job at your first attempt ,so beats paying over the odds to play champion ship courses. Great play ,so many birdie chances , great upand downs and a win for Liam , beautiful birdie Mr Payne. Keep safe and well golfmates
Well done indeed for going to these wonderful gems..... many I have played (211 in Scotland) and a couple of which are still on my bucket list - Cullen & Covesea. (also Royal Tarlair). Went to Covesea ("Cowsea") beach as a child on holiday onthe Moray Firth - there was no golf course there in the 60s. But I played the excellent Elgin & Forres several times and also Hopeman back then when it had only a railway carriage for a clubhouse! (you were there on an earlier trip), also the 2 gorse-filled courses at Lossiemouth (where you think your next shot is going to hit a low flying jet!). Think the area claims to get the most sunshine in Scotland. BTW Our golf society has been playing a lot of wee courses this year - suggest you try both the Mackenzie Wee course at Blairgowrie and the one at Gleneagles too. And for a fun 9 try Auchenblae and a real fun 18 - Stonehaven. (these two quite close to each other)
Great little 9 holes. Played it last week with hickories. Talking to Angela they are lengthening the first hole and making a dog leg right putting the mcKensie green back into the dunes. Also lengthening the second by moving the tee back near the new 1st green. Well worth playing.
Best series of hidden gems so far. This is a special course and looks like its been there for hundreds of years. All credit to the owner / architect 👏. Banter on last hole was brilliant.
An absolute belter of a course, it really is a field of dreams and the enthusiasm Liam you have for scotlands courses is infectious, if a golf course can bring a pro down to my level then it's well worth playing, sorry Simon 🤣😇🥰🤩
Love the hidden gem series, 100% pure class! What a magical course! Whe don’t have that kind of magic in the Nederlands. Cheers from the golfmates in Holland👌👌
Hi Liam I stay 5 miles from covesea golf course and never been to it . The jet that went vertical was a intercepter . A Unknown plane in our airspace. Never thought that course was that good. A nice wee training course for your irons.👍
Hi Liam, You should do a series of matches on municipal courses across England. Alot of municipal courses are closing due to government cuts (I'm on the wirral and we have already lost 2 in 12 months) so some publicity for them could help and save golf courses. you could give them a 'golf mates' course rating. These courses are vital for people who can't afford exclusive club membership fees or for those starting out. These courses can still prove a challenge in different ways.
Stunning course. I played there in July 2006 just after getting posted to RAF Lossiemouth. I remember the weather that day was red hot and when I pulled my ball out of one of the holes there was a little gheko lizard in there!
Went and played this gem yesterday 15/9/23. Course fantastic. Having an open competition this coming Saturday 23/9/23. Some great holes. Had time to play it twice. Definitely must play if in the area.
Words fail me in trying to describe how good that course looks. What a layout and hell's fire, the views! That 90 yard blind par 3 is wicked - Id be there all day de-greening my shots. Cheers
What a fantastic looking course great to see you all buzzing about it and the views are to die for. Once again another great video from a great series and channel...
You've actually come across Andy Burnett's work before. I designed and Andy built Dragon's Tooth in Ballachulish, back in 2000/01. He's a lovely fella and very skillful at building golf courses. I'm delighted to see you bringing attention to his passion project at Covesea with another brilliant film. This series has been outstanding. Can't wait to see what you made of the amazing Mackenzie greens at Duff House Royal.
Brilliant Lads. That little course looks probably as tough as it is beautiful. Looking forward to the Duff House already as that is one that I have played all-be-it just over 25 years ago.
Common barlow don’t let them get to you buddy every dog has his day Cracking golf and loving the hidden gems class all round guy also good camera crew you got now liam mega team
Played this little gem a couple of times when in Lossiemouth shows what can be done with a little imagination and graft shows a course doesn't need to be long to have a defence 👍❤️
