@@yassineszn17 not really, at the time of the second italo Ethiopian war, Italy had signed pact of mutual defence with Austria, the idea was to prevent the annexations Austria which would make Germany way to strong, Germany and Italy only came closer during the Spanish civil war where they coordinated together to help nationalists
This is the only accurate video on the 2nd Italo-Ethiopian War. All the other videos depict Ethiopia completely surrendering and getting colonized which is historically inaccurate.

@Not Savoy Fanboy anymore Yes, I watched the video, and yes, I'm conscient that the italians resisted since 1950, but they don't conquered all Ethiopia.
Very nice job, an excellent map job! I am especially impressed by your study of irregular resistance and mapping it. Nice list of sources also! but a minor point - colors, you seem to show British empire in Arabia and parts of Ethiopia as light blue - but you show British Somalialand, Sudan and Kenya as changing from the light Blue to Ethiopian dark blue in June of 1940. Does that mean you think Ethiopian forces conquered British Africa? And how come Britain in the inset map is always Ethiopian dark blue, did Ethiopia conquer it also? :-)
If you are not familiar with how video mapping works, let me explain the color scheme used by Hurricane Hunter. The darkest shade on the map represents the home territory of a country or faction, which includes its direct supporters. The second darkest shade shows the military occupations done by or indirect supporters of a country or faction. The second lightest shade represents the vassals or dependencies of a country or faction. Finally, the lightest shade on the map shows the land gains made by a country or faction over the mentioned time.
We were all laughing at the Italians...

@Devon Rowell Mapping good explanation.
That territory were mostly desert or plains, its understable that the allies were not bothered to take them
Somaliland wasn't controlled by Italy wym
Nice job!

Why was germany blue in the 1º half of the video?

To distract Italy from the annexation of Austria, as Italy would be too focused fighting Ethiopia.
