Scab, I bought this knife in flat grind (k890 version), I was so impressed I immediately purchased the saber ground version. K890 seems to be the real deal, people compare it to 3v but it really does look like a cross between 3v and 1v. Like you, I have no dog in the fight, but the two Survive knives I have are extremely well executed, I mean very close to perfect. Great review Sir.

Brother, I couldnt agree more.. I thought I was crazy.. I picked up the Survive EDC-4 in k-890 FFG.. This knofe is without a doubt the shapest knofe Ive ever owned or recieved from facotry. I own Winklers, Bark Rivers, LT Wrights, Bradfords, MKC ... You name it. This knife hands down the sharpest.

Love the design Brother. A real all rounder. LOVE the sharpness and edge retention!! That steel and heat treatment must be spot on. I was processing a sheep this morning with my hunting knife. Had to keep on touching it up with a steel. Having a sharp knife that can hold its edge - particularly on one animal, is a real bonus. Trust your weekend is going great Brother 🇺🇸 🇳🇿

I've been impressed so far with the K890. I have the EDC4 and the GSO4.7 both in it. People compare it to 3V, but it seems to be a little better than 3V.

I bought 4 of them; in magnacut, k890 and 3v with ffg and sabre grinds. I totally agree they come very very sharp and hold an edge a long time. Thin behind the edge so quite slicy. Good in the kitchen as well. I am looking forward to getting the edc5 for little longer blade.

Those are Black Linen Micarta Handle scales This was one I pre-ordered and I always go with Micarta over G-10 it's just a personal preference. I'm shocked you got the sparks you did off striking a Ferro rod, especially with a crowned spine. Well, the K890 impressed me, and thats the first Survive knife I've gotten in a Full Flat Grind.

Brother honestly I think I'm going to address the sharpening here pretty soon. I do more of a mechanical strap would be the best way to put it and then if mine are bad bad which I try not to let them get but if they're like really bad they go to my guy DJ
