Who would have known that this man would one day be on TH-cam available for the whole world to see. I can't imagine how great it would be just to see him perform in person.
I thought the exact same thing and I'm here in Texas...the fire, the rasa, the sound--- I can finally hear where Master Vilayat Khan came from in this great musical lineage. Bless you Sir for posting this nectar. Wish there was more. But, I always wish there was more of the greats, like the time I got to hear Shaik Dawood on Tabla on YT.
@@swajidz21 Bless you Syed and Super Saiyan.... my Brother and love the music of India. Tom plays Sitar and I play Shehnai, but it is almost impossible to get a decent Reed in Texas... makes ryaz very difficult. The Jugalbandi's of Ustad Vilayat Khan and Ustad Bismillah Khan send us into a trance like state. I do know Mehdi Hassan with the Golden Voice and have two of his records. Also have Bade Ghulam Ali Khan's cassette tapes. I think we saw Ghulam Ali in, "Mughlai- e- Azam" with wonderful Madhubala...Lataji sings so incredibly in that Magnum Opus film...we've learned to cook India cuisine and dote like 14 year olds on the 60's Bollywood stars, and we are in our 70's. Tom and I think that if the healing music of India was put into every office building in the world everyone would be more agreeable. The movies are wonderful. Long Live Mother India.
@@sitarnut @ we must hear you from time to time. nice memories you hear. You have a wonderful passion of classical music of India. Hope my channel stimulates your passion. I am lucky to have such a genuine audience.
Beautiful beyond words...time to bow to the founder of this art for passing it so beautifully to the generations. Thanks for sharing this...its so valuable ..
This playing style and that of Ustad Vilayat Khan is quite different. The composition may be same but the approach is different. Vilayat Saab brought the meends in more but this one is more like a rythmic type like that of " Bol Baat Ang ".
very soon, I will upload gat played by Ustad Vilayat Khan for better analysis. Very thanks for taking such interest here. This makes my channel much worthy.
@@swajidz21 Actually I was listening to Ustad Rais khan's father Ustad Mohammad Khan's Baaj. I feel that young Ustad Vilayat Khan followed his approach more but gradually did research & development innovations with his instrument to develop the " Gayaki Aang " more. Ustad Rais Khan's claim in that respect is true but Vilayat Saab's genius brain helped him to progress further with his innovations. I have been a follower of your channel since last 5 years Wajid Saab. Really love the old rare recordings here.

I am deeply grateful of you both Jim Griffin and Super Saiyan. This channel is worthy because of such careful audience.
