I've just read book 1, Empire of Silence, (and realised I had read it a while ago, but enjoyed re familiarising myself with the book which is great). Now, can I go easefully straight to Book 2, Howling Dark, or should I read book 1.5, The Lesser Devil? Thanks!!
Okay but Asunder is my no. 1 favourite book of 2024 now and I NEED MORE PEOPLE TO READ IT!!! Think character-driven fantasy horror in the vein of Kristoff or Tamsyn Muir (without the convoluted storytelling), with an atmosphere that feels like Ghibli on dark steroids... It is criminally good, and book 2's potential future depends on the sales of book 1 so please help give this one some love 🥲🖤 Okay, TEDtalk over... lol. Anyway, very exciting special editions again! And I am so so so excited for Arcane S2!! 😍
Another kickstarter you may want to mention is the Grandmaster: Deluxe Valdemar Anthology by Mercedes Lackey. It met and exceeded all stretch goals in 2 days. There are still 16 days remaining in the campaign. The highest stretch goal called Scholarship Application is for people to apply to get the book for free if they can't afford it. I don't know what the stipulations are for qualifying for the "scholarship" since I was fortunate to be able to afford the kickstarter. They said they will be creating new stretch goals soon for future Valdemar projects. They said they have a bunch of ideas but haven't released them yet.
I was disappointed to not see the original covers for the Sun Eater on the BB. Do you know if they are still considering doing this? I held off on buying their new editions in hopes of this.

For me, TBB is all about hardcovers for books that were never put out in hardcover or else have been out of print for a long time and are massively expensive.
I did jump on the Wraithmark special editions, I haven’t read either and I think once this set is finished (looks like it’s going to take few years which is nice for my wallet 😅) it is going to look amazing on the shelf.

Obviously, the writer strike, and the episode reduction definitely did not help house of the dragon, but they are really sacrificing motive and agency for major characters with some of these decisions. Honestly, it’s coming off as fanfiction.

I'm reading red rising rn and it's very enjoyable. I have a question, It's very popular. One of books series these days, what's up with the lack of art? There's barely any art work for it
I'm a broken binding subscriber, and had an early access link to the suneater sale yet it was sold out before I even got access to it. I am continually disappointed and shocked at how the Broken Binding constantly mishandles their sales. They just do a really bad job at everything except the books themselves, which are lovely.
A shame that most of us who might want the BB edition of Memory, Sorrow and Thorn might have to kowtow to scalpers just to get our hands on the books. Same for The Dark Forest.
At this point, anyone who thinks The Winds of Winter will ever be released is so delusional they might need to be in a mental hospital. Also, any author whose work is adapted for TV and film should EXPECT changes to their source material. It's only been the case for decades at this point, not sure why authors continue to act surprised. What works in books doesn't always work in TV, and vice versa.

Yes you definitely can jump straight to Howling Dark if you want! Lesser Devil is a spin-off. I think it's still worth the read but not a must! 😄
