This is my favorite DIY video of all time. It’s completely informative of every step. Every shot is nice and the slowmo/cuts all line up super well with the beats. I love that you put your homie on at the end too!
Many thanks Miles, I had not heard of a Kendama before...your great instructional video showed how it was made, but your friend, Tadan, really showed us how it is used. Well done to both of you.
This inspired me to start saving to build my own Kendamas by hand! Thanks a ton for the video! As a former student of a cinematography school, this was excellently filmed and edited! Absolutely major props and hats off to you, my friend! I’ll be purchasing one of yours myself when I get the extra funds. :)
solid video. in all ways possible. Great explanation and detail amount, great filming and editing, and great dama play by your buddy at the end. solid!
Truly fantastic execution in the shop and such a wonderful collaboration, I was surprised by how well this video all came together right down the the editing. Bravo!
Great video! I recently started turning my own Kendama and got stuck with the question of how to clamp the ken while making the base cup and how to clamp the sara-do. Looks good the way you did it. Thanks!
Nice one Miles!! Great build, and video too! I love all shots of the rain while you’re finishing the sphere, and the final shots look like they are straight from Kuma. Well done!
Really cool Tutorial, but does all these tools belong to you ??? I would love create a Kendama, but I haven't all these tools ! Your kendama is unique and beautiful
Nice work Miles! It turned out great. I would advise you to not just break the waste pieces off as the wood can break into the finished piece. Use a chisel or saw. Excellent work on the sphere.
$1,000,000. No, just kidding. I usually don't do custom work because I can't always satisfy everyone's needs. But, I will be dropping a batch of limited edition damas in a month or two on my etsy. It just makes more sense for me to come up with a style and make multiple rather than making single customs, I hope you understand.

@@MakeWithMiles Yeah man, can't wait!
What kind of clear coat did you use?
I bet that lunar balance is niceeee
Aight this is sick
Cool video, nice work! Does the internal radius of the cup need to be deep enough that the ball only sits on the top rim of the cup?
Can u make some for an order?
Epic!!!! Keep up the good work and whatever negativity is on here can take that somewhere else
Amazing!
Thanks!
such a dope video! thanks!
Thanks Dude!
If you ever make another, I would like to buy it from you
As a matter of fact, if you want to buy a ken, check out my IG; thats where I release new kendamas for sale
Hi Miles!! I wonder what did you use last time you coated and covered at Tama
Can you tell me what is it?? Is it just painted spray? Or other things??
Sorry for the late reply, I would recommend flex seal clear spray to coat the tama
so sick! i rlly want to make one now lol
I wish all kids had a workshop and tools
So dope
this was dope asf
Dope video
What paint did you use for the tama ?
Flexcoat spray!
Really cool Tutorial, but does all these tools belong to you ??? I would love create a Kendama, but I haven't all these tools ! Your kendama is unique and beautiful
Thank you!
vou tentar fazer um desses com carretel de linha e pedaços de madeira ou PVC para ver no que vai dar espero que dê certo
Wow, Tadon is really a good kendama player. I’ve been playing for about 4 months and I’m nowhere near as good as him
4 months is literally nothing in kendama. most pros are at least 5+ years into kendama
where'd you get the clear coat?
The clear coat I use didn't turn out well. Since then I've found that Flex Seal clear works well. You can get it at Lowe's
@@MakeWithMiles huge thanx, im from Europe but trying to find a solution
What lathe do you have?
Jet 1221vs
Make With Miles thanks!
BUMP
awesome video and great project, looks like a lot of fun to develop some new skills.
Thank you, I in fact used some of the wood you gave me for this project!
i turned myself a ken out of an apple wood thats been drying for 5 years. very strong wood!
Nice!
I want to learn wood working
Good job. You're probably out of college by now.
Nice work Miles! It turned out great. I would advise you to not just break the waste pieces off as the wood can break into the finished piece. Use a chisel or saw. Excellent work on the sphere.
Thanks Brian, I do regret breaking it off, but I was able to mostly turn it down afterward on the lathe! Thanks for the suggestion!
What clear coat was used on the tama??
I used a waterbased polycrylic, (flat) but I wouldn't recommend it because it wasn't as grippy as I wanted.
Awesome man, thanks 🙏
I m the 600th like u have likes 100 times more than dislikes and u deserve it
Awesome! Thank you so much :)
What did u spray the tama with? Just wondering because I’m thinking of making one

sick!!
Where did you get your carbide tools and for how much
These are the tools: www.rockler.com/carbide-mini-turning-tool-3-piece-set
How much you would charge to make my custom made ? My design? 😎😎🔥
