I can’t thank you enough, Matthew and PlanetSail. Your coverage of the Vendée Globe has been an absolute joy to follow. It’s truly refreshing to see so much more English-language coverage of this incredible race-a race so captivating that I once considered learning French just to fully appreciate the stories of these remarkable sailors. Thank you again for bringing it to life. Fair winds!
This has been the finest channel covering the Vendée Globe, and I thank you for the excellent coverage. Been closely following the VG since the 2012 edition, and it is the event that keeps on giving. Yes, the first two skippers blazed the trail in record time, but there are so many more sailors still out there. Lately it has been so good to see Jingkun Xu smiling and in good spirits, after so much suffering and tribulations. I honestly believe, from the bottom of my heart, that Jingkun Xu is the toughest, most resilient, and most inspiring human being on the planet today. The Vendée Globe has so many facets, and this is what makes the event fascinating and unique; from the mind blowing winner’s records, to the heroics of people like Goodchild mending his main sail while acting so gracious, or Pip Hare jury rigging a mast for her "slow boat to Sidney", le Cam rescuing Escoffier, there have been so many acts of unbelievable courage and heroism, but for me, the hors concours of bravery has to go to Jingkun Xu, because under the most normal of circumstances this race is enormously difficult on people's minds and bodies, and for him this has to have been an an incredibly difficult race, and yet, he is out there so brave and so tenacious; what a life lesson for all of us! I pray a lot of people go to Les Sables D'olonne to receive him whenever he arrives, including all skippers who arrived before him, because he deserves it ten fold. I also pray the New Year of the Golden Snake is a great year for Jingkun Xu!
Don't forget there are other boats, those who had to abandon for one reason or another, that are still with the fleet, and approaching the finish line anyway.. Let's not ignore their efforts,
