This is a classic. Pretty much everything off of Siamese Dream is fantastic. For me it's their best album. Billy Corgan (lead singer/vocalist/songwriter) pretty much spilled his soul on it. He had a very isolated children and was neglected by his parents, so it dealt a lot with that. "I used to be a little boy, so old in my shoes" refers to this. His brother had special needs (I believe Down Syndrome) so he was often the center of the parents' attention, with Billy an after thought.
Billy Corgan said of this song, "I never really had the guts to kill my parents, so I wrote a song about it instead." I can't find the rest of the quote, but it was something about instead of killing them and making them feel the pain they caused me, he wanted to write something beautiful and empathetic to show them how big his heart was.
This song is so gorgeously composed and moving. Siamese Dream is a stone cold classic album. It made them my favourite band at the time and Mellon Collie confirmed that status. They dropped off, especially since their first run ended in 2001 but those 2 albums are pure gold.
Siamese Dream is the best album Smashing Pumpkins ever put out. This song and every song on that album are bangers. This is one of my favorite songs of all time. Great song choices. Cherub Rock off this same album is another banger you should listen to.
Smashing pumpkins, what can I say. First bought their cassette called Kish as a freshman in high school and this album Siamese dream followed next year. Disarm was my favorite song on this album and I haven’t listened in so many years. This brought me back to a place I had forgotten about so thank you for reacting to this emotional heart wrenching song from amazingly talented group of men! Screech you’re doing such a great job. There’s so much on this album to listen to and I hope you decide to react to them more!!!!!❤✌️
All of your SP analysis is so spot on I’m wondering if you read the cliff notes before listening. Love it. If you want to cry then try “For Martha” next.
'Cut that little child- INSIDE OF ME and such a part of you.' @Sceez- 🤔🤨_😳 I've always understood this song to be about childhood abuse & the cycle it perpetuates too. However I thought he was saying 'S.Od0my' instead of 'inside of me'. On the low- I still think that's what he's saying. I've found many lyric videos & even google searches to be factually incorrect. They be changing sh!t up sometimes, on purpose. Plus, singers change up words in performances all the time. You just neva neva know these dayz! Go back & take another listen- you'll see exactly what I mean. The agendas be CRAZY fr..!? 🎯🃏 🙃_🤯💨 🚩🚩🚩
@YungWokGod when you're using vocals then this is unequivocally correct but Billy is the best songwriter from the list, imo. Then it would go to Chris and then Layne.

Spot on brother with the meaning of the song...
Just may as well do an album review. The whole album is a masterpiece.
And Gish right after would be great.
It's so hard but so important to break the cycle of abuse. Thank you, Smashing Pumpkins, for this message.

Kurt Who? Billy Corgan was the most talented of the era - not even close.
Layne staley > Chris cornell / Mark Lanegan > Kurt and Billy > Eddie Vedder

Why do u think we are fool and belive that this is first time you heard this song ?
There's only one fool here...
It's about abortion.
That's what I've always thought. Long live the '90's- the best decade for music?
Its about being an abused child.
The Civil Wars did a cover of this song. It’s amazing..
Dude, that was a great reaction
