My Russian boyfriend and I continue to explore Yerevan and register our marriage in Armenia.
Our first stop is Lover's Park.
It is located on Baghramyan Avenue in the central Crenton area of the city. In the 18th century, it was known as Crosen Park, and after that it became known as Lovers' Park because since the 20th century the park has been a favorite meeting place for many couples.
It was the end of autumn. Lawns and paths are covered with yellow and orange leaves. I think it's beautiful. I experience a new season for the first time, other than the summer and rainy season in the Philippines.
Republic Square is the central city square in the capital of Armenia. The square is surrounded by five large buildings built of pink and yellow tuff in a neoclassical style. The facades are decorated with stone carvings using Armenian motifs.
Here, Armenian artists display and offer works of art and other handicrafts.
The vernissage has many works of art and paintings by local artists. The paintings mainly depict beautiful landscapes, flowers, pomegranates, Armenian traditions and culture, as well as Mount Ararat in different seasons. In addition, there are traditional carpets, carved wood, antiques, books, jewelry, musical instruments, ceramics. Many items are handmade. Armenians are very talented and hardworking.
Walking between the rows for a while, I noticed a woman selling knitted toys. I always wanted to learn how to crochet too. We bought a small toy and I named it "Bunny".
The Davtashen bridge across the gorge of the Hrazdan River connects the city center with the Davtashen district.
The next day we again went to the Hrazdan Gorge.
Boria and I have already fallen in love with Yerevan with its hospitable people, delicious food, beautiful nature and architecture.
But most importantly, Armenia gave us the opportunity to be together and we will always be grateful to this country for this.
This BIG HRAZDAN BRIDGE is also known as the Kievyan Bridge.
It was built in the 60s and at that time was one of the largest in Europe.
Near the bridge is the park of the poet Hovhannes Tumanyan. From here you can see a beautiful view of the Hrazdan bridge. There are picnic tables, swings and a playground for children.
This memorial park is dedicated to the victims of the Armenian Genocide of 1915 is considered one of the most visited places in Yerevan.
The memorial was built to commemorate the 1.5 million Armenians who died during the first genocide of the 20th century by the Turkish government.
Mother Armenia is the female personification of Armenia. Her prototype was a 17-year-old girl. Author Ara Harutyunyan met her at the store and persuaded her to pose for the sculpture.
One of the main attractions of Yerevan is the Yerevan Zoo.
It was founded in 1940 and in those years it occupied an area of 3 hectares. The number of animals and birds in it constantly grew, and the area expanded. Currently, the zoo is spread over an area of 35 hectares.
More than two hundred species of animals live here permanently. There are also rare species that are bred here to prevent their extinction in the wild. Some of them are listed in the Red Book of Armenia.
We have been in Yerevan for several weeks now. I did not receive my apostilled cenomar in the Philippines, so we are waiting for my mother to send it to us. When we received this document, we proceeded to register our marriage at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
For this, only our foreign passports, a certificate of absence of marriage and the translation of all these documents into Armenian were needed. Surprisingly, we did not have to pay for marriage registration. We paid only for notary services and translation of our documents.
Registration of marriage in Armenia is very fast. Today we are submitting documents, and tomorrow we will receive our marriage certificate.
Finally, the moment we have been waiting for has arrived. We are now officially husband and wife. We are very happy that our patience and love for each other is stronger than distance.
After we took the marriage certificate, we translated it into English, then gave the documents to the agency, where our certificate will be apostilled.
In the evening we went to the cafe to celebrate our special day. We ordered a bunch of salads, cheese platter, shish kebab, traditional Armenian khash and, of course, a bottle of champagne.
The cozy atmosphere and delicious food were perfect for our mood and holiday. We put on each other's wedding rings as a symbol of our love and continued to enjoy fine Armenian food and talk about our future.

When I first watched this a few years ago I was slightly disappointed that you didn’t have a “wedding ceremony” with family and friends in a traditional custom - but watching this again now, I realize the whole motion made by the two of you to come together the way you did is quite ceremonious - and the forethought and personal touch Boris put into the rings is quite ceremonious - and your wedding supper was quite sweet as well. The most important part of the marriage - being love and commitment - is obviously present and certainly proves a genuine marriage - more so than many others who have had extravagant wedding ceremonies - this marriage you have is something very special ❤
