- Flogging Molly has always had a special place in my heart ever since HWM crossed paths with them for the first time on our first Warped Tour in the late 90's and early 2000's. Right away I found them to be kindred spirits and after those early years of getting to know them, I found myself on the same record label as them. Side One Dummy records gave me a shot and I jumped in recording a couple records for them in 2006 and 2007 where a few of the Molly's joined in with me as musicians on those songs. They've always been great pals and when my friend Alex Solke mentioned a thing Vainstream was doing overseas, he mentioned me submitting a cover tune. After talking about a few different songs, this one came up and it made the most sense to tip my hat to this wonderful band and group of folks for all the support they've given me over the years. This cover is particularly serendipitous for me. On the day you uploaded this, my mother left this world as a casualty of COVID. Due to the circumstances, I couldn't be with her during her last hours on this earth nor could I attend her funeral. My mother always loved music, and especially the acoustic guitar. One year to the day, and I've stumbled upon the cover you've uploaded here. Thank you for providing me solace with your music. Be well, my friend.
