    I love doing hyperlapses of the sunset especially after a storm! the movement of the mavic 2 and the cloud formations make for so much magical movement!

    • @WiLL02724
      @WiLL02724 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Kevin Le I haven’t tried hyperlapsing sunrise yet, or sunset for that matter. How do you compensate for the exposure changes ?

    • @mikw1809
      @mikw1809 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@WiLL02724 Exactly, the only solution to this is to use automatic shutter speed or keep adjusting the manual setting. This makes a mockery of using a specific ND filter for a sunset/sunrise timelapse, as in order to maintain the generally accepted principle of shutter speed being twice the frame rate, you would have to keep changing filters throughout the timelapse.

    Those tree shadows on the snow were astounding! Loved that bracketing pick. I didn't know that could be done. I got some great drone video from the sun setting over the lake last night here in Austin. Of course the Mavic Air doesn't have adjustable F-stop so I had to tweak ISO and shutter speed to not have the sunset blackout the landscape. I was pretty happy with the result. Great tutorial as usual.

    Waiting for our sun to start creeping up now. We get it twice a day with two shadow options. Old warehouse in my town has huge glass windows and the sun comes up from behind the building and just blasts through giving a awesome effect through the glass. I hope it turns out as good as I think it will. Thanks for the great video as always!

  • @jasolpchjelp
    @jasolpchjelp 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    Here I learned a lot. I have tried earlier with a sunrise video and one thing you did not mention is that your location with have a different light because of the movement of the sun from east to west. That means that the light will be complete different in the morning from what it will be at the evening. :-)

    I don't think you mentioned what color space you are shooting in. I'm assuming D-log but given that there is great contrast with darker areas and brighter highlights do you find D-log better than HLG in regards to noise in the darker areas? Do you use a noise reducing plugin to help lessen the noise? Also, when exposing for the sunrise/sunset do you favor the sky and let the earth fall where it may or to to use the 2/3 run and open up for the darker areas a 1/3 of a stop? This would be to know. Thank you.

    Still learning here but is it possible to capture this type of video like damn near quality of the sun and sky with the Mavic 2 Zoom or is that aperture a complete game changer when it comes to making the best cinematic content.. I'm starting to wish I bought that instead of wanting the cool dolly zoom effect :(

  • @CJ-cx6ip
    @CJ-cx6ip 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Great info. Thanks! One question: For video, If you set ISO 100, shutter speed 1/60, and aperture F2.8, and have say ND16 on the lens, how do you know if the exposure is right, and how would you adjust to changing light conditions? How do you adapt if you pan away from direct sun? Would you ever allow auto shutter speed for example? Guess that's more than one question. :)
