Taylor Dayne is one of the most underrated artist of all time. She didn't get the recognition she deserves. Even today. She's one of my favorite blue eyed soul artists of all time.
She is a beast of a singer! “”Don’t Rush Me”, “I’ll Always Love You “, “Tell It To My Heart”, “Prove Your Love”, SHE IS AMAZING! I have the greatest hits album and it is on my playlist! It is an honor to see her in real time! ❤😎
She either wrote or co-wrote: Taylor Dayne = I'll Be Your Shelter Aerosmith = I Don't Want to Miss a Thing Cher = If I Could Turn Back Time, Just Like Jesse James Patti LaBelle, Celine Dion = If You Asked Me To Celine Dion = Because You Loved Me Expose = As Long as I Can Dream, I'll Never Get Over You Getting Over Me, I'll Say Goodbye for the Two of Us, Your Baby Never Looked Good in Blue John Waite = Don't Lose Any Sleep Milli Vanilli = Blame It on the Rain Tina Turner, Ace of Base = Don't Turn Around Monica = For You I Will LeAnn Rimes, Trisha Yearwood = How Do I Live Chicago = I Don't Wanna Live Without Your Love, Look Away Belinda Carlisle = I Get Weak All-4-One, Christina Aguilera = I Turn to You Air Supply = Lonely Is the Night Starship = Nothing's Gonna Stop Us Now DeBarge = Rhythm of the Night Laura Branigan = Solitaire Faith Hill = There You'll Be Toni Braxton = Un-Break My Heart Bad English = When I See You Smile
This was by far my favorite Taylor Dayne song. I get emotional every time I hear it. I suspected when I listened to this version that it was not the original, which to me makes me even more emotional. Taylor's versatility to sing both dance songs and ballads made her one of my favorite female vocalists since the 1980s.
Totally agree, Doug, it’s a superb song. If you marry a genius songwriter like Diane Warren with a great soulful singer like Taylor it’s a winning formula. The songs only gets better with time.
Thank you for this lovely interview. Her incredible voice has been on my forever playlist since the early 90s. If she was getting a penny every time I listen to Shelter, she would be a billionaire by now. Grace, beauty, and one of the greatest and richest voice around. If there is a great thing about social medias is that it is making it easier for the younger generations to discover the gems of yesterday. ❤❤❤
Thank you Taylor for sitting for this! I am most engaged when Jay & Amber toss it to the artists to let them explain the stories and the behind the scenes of the songs. Sometimes, the songs are so great they can leave one speechless and/or sputtering for something to say. I would be in awe in the presence of such fine artists!
I mean no, but she was IMO arguably THE hottest woman of the late 80s/early 90s across ALL media, so that is no great shame. She still looks great for sure.
That awesome you guys had Taylor on when you guys react to her other song I suggested you guys to listen to this song one my favorites. This came out when I was in high school and listened to this song so many times My very first time I fell in love with a women and we broke up. This was one of those "tear your heart out" ballads from the 80's, and I was there for it. Every single pang, every tear...you felt it. And Taylor is still looking amazing! Been a fan since back in the day, and a treat to see you again. You all brought a smile to this Squad Member's face today! Mission accomplished!
My favorite Taylor song. This version is definitely a re-record which I’ve never heard before! Oh, and the band played “I’ll Always Love You” at our wedding back in ‘92. Thank you for that song, too. ❤
Ms. Taylor Dayne is one of the finest singers in this planet. She is awesome and I love all her songs. I miss the 80s because this the era where we have fabulous singers like her. She still looks beautiful after all these years. Love, Love, Love.❤❤❤❤❤❤
Taylor Dayne was epic in the late 80's! Such a powerful voice and great songs. Her range, for me, is very similar to Lara Fabian. Thank you for the memories Miss Dayne! ❤
And I wanna say goes so much harder than I realised at the time, it was all over the radio when I was a kid and I was like "whatever", but holy crap... as an adult in hindsight it is MONUMENTAL.
This song is my Favourite of Taylor’s. It touched me… I lost someone i really respected and looked up to around when this had came out. And can kinda relate to it that way. Makes me happy and sad at the same time. Brings back many fond memories. Every time I hear it. Taylor thanks for these songs that always bring me back to a time I very much miss. Thank you for… being you. Respects and ❤ Lady! My dad also was a frontman for his band (s) and I Remember all his gigs. How much work they did in the studio to get it all just right. So many takes. And techniques… but all worth it. His bands were called cheaper than therapy harder rock sound and moving targetz back in the 80s softer rock, Ivan judd. Or bullseye records Jamie Vernon If at all interested… kinda
Loved this song and album back when it was new & still do. Taylor Dane is so talented and I’ve always thought she never got the full recognition she deserved. I was still working in the industry when this came out and I made sure it was being played everywhere in Toronto.
My brother and I were just recalling this song the other day. It was a favorite song of our late father. We were both quite surprised at the time...not because of the song's beauty, but due to the deep emotions our father displayed during its playing. Thank you, Taylor for bringing joy to so many.
So now please react to my favorite Taylor Dayne song, “Shelter”. The lyrics are fantastic, her delivery is powerful, and song in general is just great.
I remember her singing this song, played on the radio often. Her voice is so beautiful, how exciting she’s here watching, so darn cool! Love her…👏👏👏💜💖💖🌸🌸
Bringing the artists onto your reviews is NEXT LEVEL. I looooove watching this!!! I slow danced to this sooo many times. Such a beautiful and talented lady. Keep them coming!
So IMCREDIBLE!! TAYLOR DANE!!!...ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS SONG. BRINGS BACK SO MANY MEMORIES. TO ACTUALLY HAVE HER ON YOUR CHANNEL. ANOTHER GREAT SONG IS ..SEND ME A LOVER.
When I hear her voice I get tingles, this is one of the best ballads ever created, you can feel the emotion the entire time, raw power and talent, thank you for the years of amazing music.
This is great! Y'all have now listened to the original and the remastered versions of this song! Taylor remains awesome! What a treat to see her on your channel!❤
This song is an absolute classic, the genius Diane Warren song with her genius pop songwriting formula. And it wouldn’t be complete without Taylor’s superlative vocal. It’s gorgeous and one of my favourite songs from the 80’d. We already knew Taylor was a great pop/dance singer but this showed all her talents. If we hadn’t had enough brilliance by the time we reached the middle eight after the guitar solo we get a dramatic stop. Diane knows drama! I’ll never stop championing this song!
1) this takes me back to college. Great song. 2) Taylor's voice is so good and so diverse, she could literally sing rock, blues, soul, and even country. So awesome to see her. Thanks for this one, y'all! 🤙🏼
You guys have already reacted to this song with the film clip back in March last year! Jay keeps saying they've only reacted to her once with "tell it to my heart"
Yep jay keeps saying they only reacted to her once tell it to my heart, they have reacted twice tell it to my heart and love will lead you back, and now both again with taylor dayne as a guest makes sense no problem but jay has clearly forgot about already reacting to love will lead you back, same thing happened with howard jones things can only get better they said and jay said a brand new artist for the channel when they had already did one before hand what is love, a lot to remember doing 3 songs daily obviously occassional slip ups to be expected
Such a Beautiful and Talented Artist and Lady, Taylor Dayne is one of my all-time favorite voices and this song is as well. I've sung it many times Karaoke (badly lol) and a million times in my car at the top of my lungs just because it is such a beautiful melody and lyric that it doesn't even matter that i cannot do it justice! So nice to see you in person with our favorite reactors! A Very Special Happy Friday, Y'all!
My wife and I took a wrong elevator once leaving a radio studio event and ended up on a wrong elevator…just us and Taylor! Super friendly and lovely person.
They already reacted to the original version & video over a year ago. After the last Taylor Dayne reaction yesterday, I went back & watched it again. It was over a year ago. It's my favorite song of hers. I couldn't figure out why they kept saying they only reacted to one of her songs.
‘Sure as the stars are shining, one day you will find me again, it won’t be long’. Just poetry from Diane Warren and Taylor putting everything into the song too
Taylor Dayne is so underrated.. ‘Tell it to my heart’, ‘Love will lead you back’ and ‘ I’ll always love you’ are my favorites from her .. but she’s got bangers , ‘With every beat of my heart ‘ and ‘I’ll be your shelter’ are solid as well
She is phenomenal!! This song had such meaning for me, as I was going through the end of a relationship myself. It's so emotional. Her voice takes you on that journey, and all those feels!
My first kiss was to the sound of this incredible song! Taylor is a phenomenal artist. Jay and Amber, what a wonderful job you do! Thank you for sharing these moments with all of us again. God bless you! Kisses from Brazil!
Hey you guys, I have loved you since you started. I was look forward to what you pick every single day. When did you get this idea and how do you go about getting these people to interview with you? It's great.😊
Such an incredible distinct voice and every word is as clear as possible regardless where in the register she takes you. One of my favorites and should have won the masked singer. ❤
I have waited for 3yrs for you to react to this song! My favorite of all time. My husband left me and our baby daughter during the Vietnam war, 50yrs later, he wanted to come back to me. This song fit it so intensely for me. Unfortunately, he passed away before we could finalize his move from NY to California 😢
so sorry to hear that. If you look at their old reactions you'll see they did this song back in March 2023. They say they haven't heard it before but they have. It's the film clip version
When I first saw and heard Taylor’s video tell it to my heart I thought OMG she is beyond gorgeous down to her toenails. And then to hear love will lead you back she is still beyond gorgeous inside and out.
Taylor Dayne is one of the most underrated artist of all time. She didn't get the recognition she deserves. Even today. She's one of my favorite blue eyed soul artists of all time.
One of the best ballads from the 80s, for sure!

Taylor Dayne’s voice is so amazing!
One of my favorite songs of all time!! The emotion in her voice is palpable 😢 And the way she ends the song is just amazing! Love me some Taylor!!

Loved this song and album back when it was new & still do. Taylor Dane is so talented and I’ve always thought she never got the full recognition she deserved. I was still working in the industry when this came out and I made sure it was being played everywhere in Toronto.
I like her lower register, there's something primal about it. That's her signature sound to me. This was great Taylor!
Taylor rightfully credits Diane Warren (a lyrical genius), but I say that Dianes lyrics were magnified by Taylors very unique and wonderful voice.
Oh yes, it’s a collaboration. I don’t know if Diane knew Taylor could sing like this but it 100% worked!
A perfect match
