There are many subtle elements involved, which even the native english speakers are not aware of though they speak the language....... without getting too much into technicalities, I just want to throw some light on aspects of speech like ; Connecting words together Verbal nods Rolling /r/ sounds (esp. In American accent) Plosives (pa,tuh, kuh) Syllable stress Usage of idioms Glottal stops Voice/voiceless sounds.....etc etc There are a zillion of different accents in the U.S alone so which American accent are you faking. Focus on the language part not on faking accents. And she's is being plauded for what? For being fake? Such a shame. Irony! How media feeds us with shit and what's more ironical is she's now an inspiration to SGT university students........LMAO!!. I'm proud of my country and heritage, but exaggeration of trivial and non sensical stuff to gullible fellow Indians will only blemish its image. There are many great Indian speakers in english who sway the english and the americans like dust to corners, with their command on language. Even our old Indian cricketers for that matter speak excellent English. Dravid, gavaskar and commentators like harsha, charu and many more. What the hell !?. Accent is not just fast talking and over enunciating a few sounds. There are many subtle elements involved, which even the native english speakers are not aware of though they speak the language.......
without getting too much into technicalities, I just want to throw some light on aspects of speech like ;
Connecting words together
Verbal nods
Rolling /r/ sounds (esp. In American accent)
Plosives (pa,tuh, kuh)
Syllable stress
Usage of idioms
Glottal stops
Voice/voiceless sounds.....etc etc
There are a zillion of different accents in the U.S alone so which American accent are you faking.
Focus on the language part not on faking accents. And she's is being plauded for what? For being fake? Such a shame.
Irony! How media feeds us with shit and what's more ironical is she's now an inspiration to SGT university students........LMAO!!.
I'm proud of my country and heritage, but exaggeration of trivial and non sensical stuff to gullible fellow Indians will only blemish its image. There are many great Indian speakers in english who sway the english and the americans like dust to corners, with their command on language. Even our old Indian cricketers for that matter speak excellent English. Dravid, gavaskar and commentators like harsha, charu and many more. It's not the mistake of the girl, but this media bogholes who are playing with jhanvis life instilling in her mind, that being fake is something to be proud of. Any native speaker or voice coaches can easily trace out that all she did was improperly rolling the r sound.
All the of this strenuous effort for what? To become a faker. Her father should be blamed. It's a stereotype that native speakers and americans in particular speak very fast, but that's not true, it's the accent which flows make it look like its fast. God save my people and my country.
