      @TheBohemianTraveler  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Eric Farrar where I work, we just look at the job listings, and put in a transfer. Is it the same where you are? Also, I’m curious why you would want to change positions? Don’t you still get the great benefits? Or are you ready to work outdoors?I’m just curious. Thank you so much for the great question.

      Bohemian Traveler the reason why I want to transfer and work at the Ramp is because I want to move forward and expand my interests in working at the airport. Yes I do get the same benefits such as traveling for free. I am a very versatile person and I am open with trying new things in life. Plus I am also finishing my associates in science degree in criminal justice and working at the ramp would be flexible for me to maintain school and work

    Hi,
    Your videos are very informative. My question to you is that I have a virtual interview next week for ramp agent. I am a guy with big physique, I am 6ft high and weigh 300 lbs. I am fully active and have no issues lifting bags, bending, standing and walking. Can the airline reject me just because I have heavy personality? Please advise.
    Thanks in advance.

    I've heard airline employees live in one city, but fly out to another city just to work for an airline. Than fly back home after their shift is over.
    Is that normal, can you elaborate more on that?
    Thanks
    Asking because, I have a f2f interview in Oakland for a major Airline as a Ramp agent, but live in Vegas.

    • @TheBohemianTraveler
      @TheBohemianTraveler  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sami Liua it’s possible, but I don’t think worth the stress. That’s a lot of travel for each shift. You never know if you’ll make the flight, if there are cancellations due to weather etc. I think the way it would work it was if you put a bunch of shifts together and stayed up for a couple of days and then flew home when your week was over.

    I was offered to come to an in-house hiring in California in a 3 day time. I chose a time that they offered (4pm) and then didn’t hear back. I flew from FL to CA and waited. It’s day of and I’m still waiting and emailed them. Is this typical?

      Quianna Enang Awesome! Thank you. I wish you the best in your airline journey. Training for me at three different airlines has always been full time. For Delta I flew to Salt Lake City for a week. Then came back and worked for a month or two. Then was sent to Atlanta for another couple of weeks. And then came home for a few months. And then was sent to LAX for a week or two. My current airline we have five weeks of full-time training as well. But they do break it up within 1 to 2 week increments. And we have to fly out of state. Hopefully, your training is more flexible. I will upload a video that talks about what to expect after you get hired.

    So, I have seventeen years of customer service experience, some college, I worked as a nursing assistant for four years, and I'm pretty dramatic, dynamic and work at the airport already. Do these airlines look for anything specific in candidates in terms of likeability? ANd do you need a college degree? I have a trade that I completed and am currently working in it.

    • @TheBohemianTraveler
      @TheBohemianTraveler  4 ปีที่แล้ว

    When does your training start after hiring and how often

    • @TheBohemianTraveler
      @TheBohemianTraveler  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

  • @TheWhynotme27
    @TheWhynotme27 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    would love to get in the airline industry mainly cause of the flight benefits. What positions/airlines would you recommend? I already tried for a part-time Ramp Agent but they were very strict about not missing any days from work & especially training, so that's why I couldn't commit at this time.
    Friend's alum was a part-time flight attendant who would only work on weekends, etc or when available. She would call her boss say I wanna go to Paris this weekend and boom! Done.
    Does anything like that still exist?

    • @TheBohemianTraveler
      @TheBohemianTraveler  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Ben Johnson Her situation is very unique. Most airlines are very strict about attendance especially during training and probation periods. The only time you’d be able to have a flexible schedule like that is with seniority and also being able to do trades with coworkers.
