    You’re going to get charged to pick it up, to offload it in the warehouse, to have it banded and wrapped, and for delivery to its location.
    I work in logistics in a secure warehouse.
    I’m trying to get more involved in sales. But I’m hands on now. How to Paletize and crate can be interesting some times

    LTL is the liftgate service a separate charge for a residential address? Or is it normally included in the shipping cost?

    For amazon relay what does a 26 foot box truck fall in.. LTL or FTL?

    • @ShipmateFulfillment
      @ShipmateFulfillment  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi L Palacio,
      I'm not very familiar with the Relay program and would not know for sure which Amazon would consider it to be as I don't know if they only allow FTL for a certain size only. However, generally speaking in transportation FTL refers to the booking of the full truck rather than a shared truck like LTL where other freight may be in transport along with yours during the route. Because of this any size truck can be considered FTL when the truck is dedicated to a single shipment. Hope this helps!

    Is this the same thing people mean when they say LCL and FCL? Or is that different?

    • @ShipmateFulfillment
      @ShipmateFulfillment  4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Hi James, LCL is "Less Than Container Load" and FCL is "Full Container Load". This is a similar idea as to what is discussed in the video, but commonly applies to ocean freight rather than trucking. Hope this helps answer your question.

    How do we find these drivers is there an app?

    • @ShipmateFulfillment
      @ShipmateFulfillment  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Hi Stuffy,
      There have been a couple of apps that have come out recently, but I always prefer to work with a freight broker when possible as I have not seen as much success with the rates on apps and software. I would recommend looking for a few local brokers to you that you see have good reviews. I would then email your next few freight shipments to each of them for a quote. You will quickly learn who you like to work with and who is competitive and who is not. After quoting 2-3 shipments across multiple brokers you will most likely want to stick with 1 or 2 and really focus on building that relationship. You can also contact freight carriers directly, but the only way to know you are getting a fair rate is to cast a wide net and have multiple quotes from multiple carriers. I recommend using a broker especially if you are new as they can also help you navigate things like freight class, accessorials, and other important information that can greatly impact quote accuracy! Hope this helps

    Hi, if i'm doing DDP terms, so the supplier arranges the shipping, is it him who decides whether it's small parcel delivery/ltl/ftl?

    • @ShipmateFulfillment
      @ShipmateFulfillment  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Alexandra, often the supplier decides based on the size of the shipment. Usually they will ship to optimize price based on volume. If you have a preference on how a shipment should ship, you should take it up with the supplier. However, it is worth noting that not all suppliers will honor these requests and if they do you may incur a surcharge if the cost of the shipment is higher than it otherwise would be.

      @@ShipmateFulfillment hello! If we have 10 boxes each weighing 10-11 kg, is it better to have SPD or LTL? My supplier will provide DDP shipping but has no idea regarding SPD and LTL and I need the information to create my shipping plan. Thank you
