  • This week it's question and answer time! For the first question, Eileen explains why sleepless nights are so common during the menopause, whilst the next question highlights a not so common symptom - nausea. My answers look to shed a little light on these two problems and offer my advice on what you can do to help yourself.

      Sleeping problems, yep. But it is the brain fog that can throw me for a curve. I have such huge faux pars, at work too. And then I think to myself geez, oh my gosh.
      And then there is always a work snake that mentions one of those mistakes ( a mistake that in no way messes anything up at work, just a stupid little one) right in front of the boss so the office snake can then later snicker about it.

      @@angelicaflores505 I’m doing so much better now. It’s amazing. I was told I’d see the light at the end if the tunnel. 2 years ago it was hard to imagine. I sleep well now. I was diagnosed with sleep apnea. Got on cpap machine. No more night sweats. Nausea is rare now. All I can say is hang in there to people still experiencing these symptoms. This too shall pass 😊

      @AvogelCoUk  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Golin
      The physical changes that can occur as hormones decrease in the menopause can use up a lot of energy often causing fatigue. It is really important that you get plenty of rest and relaxation to allow the body to adapt and re-energise. However, if the fatigue and dizziness is constant then this could indicate other health issues such as low iron, low thyroid function, low blood pressure, low vitamin D or B12. It may be a good idea to ask your doctor to test for these just to rule them out.

      Hi Chona
      If your symptoms haven't started to ease off or have got worse over the last few years then it is important to see your doctor. Other health issues can appear at this time such as low iron, low thyroid function, heart disease, high or low blood pressure, diabetes, low vitamin D or B12 and these can cause similar symptoms. Your doctor can test for these just to rule them out.

    • @AvogelCoUk

      Cereals like this tend not to be the best food before bed, especially if there is also sugar in it as it can affect blood sugar levels quite quickly. However, if you mix with a little full fat Greek Yogurt instead of milk and add a few berries or chopped nuts and seeds this would be much better.

      Hi Bina
      Headaches and nausea can often be caused by dehydration and/or low blood sugar levels so it is important to drink plenty of plain water every day and eat little and often (but not high sugar foods!) Low magnesium can also be a factor too. However, headaches should always be investigated by your doctor in case it is not related to the menopause
