I've been watching yacht reviews. A lot of them, to be honest. This reviewer is the best. It feels a little odd thanking him here for them all. Anyway, thank you.
I have sailed this boat from new, having done seven seasons and around 2000 nm per year including some offshore and inshore racing. For double handed sailing, it functions perfectly. Looking back at this review, it is remarkable how almost every single word is spot on. The two minor comments is that the B&G does not crack your leg and that the sink is not too shallow. It is a cracking performer. Quality wise, there are no major problems, neither in the design, the equipment or the assembly. In beating in wavy conditions the bow is somewhat flat leading to a tendency to slamming. The jib, even the enhanced pay-extra laminate version, is a bit on the small and stiff side. For competitions, a larger, lighter and more black one is prefered. I believe the price levels have gone up dramatically lately though. We do some 4-5 weeks of cruising with five people, four grown ups, each summer and it just delivers. In general, its just great fun to sail and a a great design.
Chris Beeson should just start his own TH-cam Channel. I'd certainly support it. Wonderful reviews. It's just amazing how he can point out a few flaws, annoyances, oversights, quirks, as well as the highlights, extras, jobs well done. He's smart enough to pick up on what the designers were keen about and to appreciate it. I'll bet if I could find his harshest review I'd still want to own and sail that boat too.
That is a good thing with the head room. The 38 classic is just an inch too small everywhere if you are 6 foot. Hit my head on the boom, in the heads, in the rear cabin. But if your short it’s a great boat, nicely refined!
Vladimir Alexandrov
A lot of ill-conceived deck details seem to plague this boat. The manufacturer seems more concerned about a chic appearance than seaworthy functionality. I have also noticed that almost all of these "modern" hull shapes, whether 35-ft. or 60-ft., hobby-horse and pound quite severely in even a moderate sea state. I think there are fundamental flaws in these designs. Definitely not good for comfortable cruising. And the fridge is "huge"? C'mon.
I invite you all to made boat specific cad cam programs and to design another 100 boats this decade for a sort of renaissance......enjoy our beautiful world and Lord. jesus.
I'm gonna need the gentleman who does these videos to dress it up a little bit. Not a suit and tie but I mean let's give this job a little bit more respect. You are quite lucky to have such a gig. I don't really think you're representing the magazine very well.
I love your honest, frank reviews with a dollop of sarcasm thrown in for good measure.

I love how he points out design flaws I wouldn't think about until its too late and $20,000+ later fixing them!
Water pump under the bed was very meta

Hi; please can you say which is his channel is? Tks.
Comprehensive, no drama & a quiet smirk - accept no substitutes.
Great video YM. It's great to hear YOUR thoughts on these boats not just the sales patter...
Beeson = best yachting journalist ever. A sad loss when he left the field.
Maybe we should start the Chris Beeson fan club to get him back doing reviews.
movieklump Absolutely! 👍
Your right there, especially with Toby Hodges as the dire alternative.
There's only one Chris Beeson!!!
I like the new forecastle design, from the waterline to below the weather deck....
I like the hull design, and the sleek weather deck setup.
very good review! and the boat sails beautifully
I will probably not press the like button in the other 'Boat Test' channel's videos after I discover you. That's the way it should be. Thank you
I agree with Joe. Well done, well scripted and (!) not too long loke so many videos!

excellent review.
Really like it. One heads perfect. No maid needed
great review
A super model with a flat aft!
My neighbour has just sold their tiny 2 bed cul de sac semi in a moribund northern town for more than that. I know which I’d prefer.
Hermoso barco!
Good review!
with the price when new, tardiness is an issue on the Christening Cermony planned especially for special events, ceremonies, ect...
Very tidy review
Яхта понравилась. Не очень большая, но я был бы счастлив, мне бы хватило. А Вам?

This boat is really good looking, but very un-useful. I do not like that boat. I love the SunBeam 36.1 tested by this legend of a guy
