Good boat, fast, but a lot of strange decisions. For example, there are no handles on the steering wheels. You can only hold on to the steering wheel itself. The shoulder strap of the mainsail protrudes from below. Constantly stumbling over him at sea and in port. Moreover, the lockers and winches are in such a way that the shoulder strap of the mainsail clings to them in full courses. The handle at the table can pinch your fingers. Side hatches still open outwards. It is easy to injure your legs about them. It is also easy to break them with a staysail halyard. The sprayhood is made for gnomes. It is small, does not protect anyone and only interferes with working with the front winches. The bowsprit is made so that the anchor cannot be reached except by hanging upside down like a bat. The handles on the cabin are made for gnomes with very long arms. They can only come in handy when you've already fallen. And if you didn’t have time to grab it, then this is very bad, because the bulwark barely protrudes and does not keep the leg under the roll. There are problems inside too. Shelves try to cut off your fingers when they close. And when the shelves are open, they try to smash your head, because the edges are sharp, and the curved profile of the shelves only makes things worse. It is somehow difficult to get to all the elements: to the engine, to the taps for switching drains, to the pump, to the batteries. The ladder handles are small and easy to miss. And the children can’t reach them at all, they just fall down the stairs. The review itself is great. Thanks! ))

There is not a single sailboat in the world that does all the things you’ve mentioned😂 sounds very nitpicky to me

Sounds like you work for one of the competitors.

@@brucewalker5890 Ahaha. Competitors didn't even like it. And competitors have no less wild solutions. It's just that there are a lot of them per 1 square meter.

So I think you don't buy it then. Ok.

Appreciate the thoughtful comments on the vessel’s sailing quality. Too often missing from boat reviews. Would be helpful to hear speed readings at various points of sail.

04:50 glad to hear that she is communicating properly trough a helm wheel.

Perfect observations that should be considered by the shipyard! I would ad only a comment about the sliding setee, which is a rather badly executed idea. Unfolded table could be thinner and couch move closer (manually), so it would be possible to walk around. Other than that, she is a beautiful vessel.

Dehler is not what it used to be. No real improvement like in-between models of car models. Even worse, I am afraid this is not an in-between model of Dehler because I do ntt think any model with real improvements are coming....

I wonder how it compares to a J-Boat J/45 ... both performance cruiser in the mid-40 class.

Killer boat. Some design choices that could have been better, I agree, but on the whole, such a better boat than most other fast cruisers!

There is nothing new with this model. Just a small makeups here and there on a 10 year old model.
