Absolutely correct and not only him, every men in this movie was fucking patriarchal and in the climax all of them got away with a simple sorry and a big fat smile on their face, that's it. Remembered how one of my friend was so pissed by the idea that why she made a huge deal from "just a slap". For her FL's husband loved her cared for her so that slap was nothing in front of it. I just asked her "What if it was Amirta who slapped her husband in that party ? " My friend's answer was a Looong silence. This movie is completely flawed. Let me explain why. First of all, yes the guy is completely wrong, yes the girl is perfect and right in her decision and thappad wasn't the reason for seeking divorce but it was a reminder of what she had gone through. Now the fact, the girl is so perfect that she takes the best care of her mother in law even after divorce. The girl is so perfect that she doesn't file even a single charge on the husband and his family and in fact, when the husband levelled false charges against her, she outright denied doing the same even after compulsion from her lawyer. On top of that, she doesn't want property, alimony and even a single penny during divorce 😂. No girl is that perfect. Have you ever, ever seen such a woman in life during divorce proceedings in the history of India? It's much easier to convince people when the wife is shown as PERFECT in every sense and a kin to God but the husband as the villian because then it becomes easier to choose sides and convince people that divorce is the final calling. So here comes the last point, the movie shows that divorce is the only option. It's one of the options indeed but not the only option. Living separately for a period of time helps in realizing each other's worth meanwhile working on the relationships and chaging our behavior for the sake of relationship would go a long way in living a happy married life. There is no guarantee that you wouldn't face problems in second or third marriage.

This movie is completely flawed. Let me explain why. First of all, yes the guy is completely wrong, yes the girl is perfect and right in her decision and thappad wasn't the reason for seeking divorce but it was a reminder of what she had gone through. Now the fact, the girl is so perfect that she takes the best care of her mother in law even after divorce. The girl is so perfect that she doesn't file even a single charge on the husband and his family and in fact, when the husband levelled false charges against her, she outright denied doing the same even after compulsion from her lawyer. On top of that, she doesn't want property, alimony and even a single penny during divorce 😂. No girl is that perfect. Have you ever, ever seen such a woman in life during divorce proceedings in the history of India? It's much easier to convince people when the wife is shown as PERFECT in every sense and a kin to God but the husband as the villian because then it becomes easier to choose sides and convince people that divorce is the final calling. So here comes the last point, the movie shows that divorce is the only option. It's one of the options indeed but not the only option. Living separately for a period of time helps in realizing each other's worth meanwhile working on the relationships and chaging our behavior for the sake of relationship would go a long way in living a happy married life. There is no guarantee that you wouldn't face problems in second or third marriage.
