    I used to do this. I worked in the bonding section making the wadding and would carry the rolls over my shoulder and back out to the designated quilting machines. They could be up to 86" long and 60-100lbs. I also worked on the quilting machines and the better I got would change spools, fabric etc without turning off the machine. Would walk under the product after it sewed and would check for drop stitches. If I found one I'd have to stop machine and adjust the specific needle to stop the missed stitching. Different patterns required different molds that we'd have to install and then do a whole needle change to fit the pattern.

    Okay, but how do you put the sheet on if you can't tuck it under the thinner mattress. We have the basically boxspring, then a mattress of 5 to 10 centimetres, and a mattress cover, that's under a centimetre thick. And then the sheets.

    • @ChirriLin
      @ChirriLin 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I know it's been nearly a year, but: some old mattress pads were basically the quilted pad, and perhaps elastic straps that you'd pull under (at a diagonal for each corner), but they might not be necessary for a thin mattress. Your sheets would be enough to keep the mattress pad in place, unless your sheets were particularly loose, or the sleeper moved a great deal (in which case the sheets would pop out on their own anyway and the mattress pad would simply be collateral damage). The mattress pad skirts shown in this video are just one way of finishing mattress pads, which make sense for the majority of mattresses advertised in the US. I imagine you could take scissors to this sort of pad to remove the skirt, if that's the only kind you're seeing for sale.

    A polyester mattress pad looks pretty but it’s still polyester, which is manmade fiber and does not breathe. It gets too hot and becomes hot to sleep on, same as a polyester-filled comforter gets too hot and you have to throw it off you. Then you get cold and pull it over you again. Repeat all night. I can’t even wear a polyester blouse very long before I’m too hot. I need cotton.

    • @rasmusdanborg7803
      @rasmusdanborg7803 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      My guess is fahrenheit; that would be around 200° C - that's a fairly normal temp for baking most things in the kitchen - if it is in continuous motion, it probably decreases the likelyhood of fully melting away, and in stead just slightly rearranging molecules.
      It did sound like a lot when I heard it at first, as well 😲
