I love that when the Hart family said they didn't win on the Dawson era, Louie encouraged them to rebound from that loss!
One of the things of the Anderson version that he did at times was when families were close to 200, someone was to press the cursor as to "activate" the win.

Wonderful, even Louie remembers Richard Dawson's 1st era (where Richard always kissed the ladies).
I enjoy watching Louie throw the card at the end of each show.
Louie was such an awesome host. Show was boring for a long time without him until Steve Harvey finally saved it.

I liked Richard Karn. He always had a good comback phrase for a crazy answer. Hurley does an excellent job to now. As TheJman2600 said anything WAS better than Louie...
Yes, I wasn't a big fan of Louie Anderson when it comes to Family Feud, Karn was my favorite along with Dawson and John O'Hurley was okay, Al Roker hosted Celebrity Family Feud in the summer of 2008 on NBC Prime Time, he was okay, but not the best
Steve Harvey hosted Family Feud for 11 years, say what you want, but he saved the Feud from cancellation and now, he's giving Wheel of Fortune and JEOPARDY! competition

The problem with this version was Louie didn't do a bad job hosting. The other tweaks were what made it horrible.

@tpir1972 - John O'Hurley did once. When he said something like "Richard, how I envy being in your shadow" or something like that.
I don't think ever mentioned Richard's name since the feud returned in syndication.

From the same season, one family brought along their copy of the Third Edition of the Family Feud board game by Milton Bradley as a good luck charm. I don't remember if they won the game and Fast Money, though.

This family looks VERY familiar - they were on the Feud last year! They won 2 games and $1,295. But it's nice to see they were on this show before! Go Harts!
So they spanned 3 eras of Feud then, interesting. Was their background broached at all now? I assume not.
Louie still looked like he gave a damn here. I saw a clip from the '01-'02 season where he twice stumbled over the words during Fast Money, he spoke in the same monotone never raising or lowering octives, and seemed completely disinterested. Richard Karn wasn't very good, but anything would be an improvement from Louie. By the way, I think John O'Hurley does a marvelous job today.
This was the 01-02 season actually. The prize money wasn't bumped up to $20k till then.

Well in a span of 30-some years with a few breaks here and there, theres been 5 different hosts with dawson doing the show twice. Just an insane amount of host switching lol
This show was the best when Louie was off the rails and you could tell he hated the show. He was so sarcastic and bitter
Louie was a kick-ass host, he had a heart of gold!! Richard Karn sucked as a host, he never really stood out.

I think Louie Anderson was okay, he just wasn't used to the grueling taping schedule. John O'Hurley has had some game show experience with To Tell The Truth and I think he's done better. What I want to know is why Louie ended each Feud by saying "Be good to your families".

ranking the current Feud hosts in order from best to worst (IMO):
1) O'Hurley had his early jitters (esp. in his 1st season when he kept flinching at the FM Buzzer in FM) but he overcame that & did decent.
2) Karn what hurt Karn & Louie was consistency in hosting. Karn showed more enthusiasm than Louie but became corny & unfunny in the end
3). Louie started off good (w/ humor) but became really bad as his time went on.
4). Al Roker
I'm giving Harvey another season to see where he goes.
