Its a question of trust, trust in a countries ability to support its currency or Bit coin algorithm. Both have the vulnerability of people, manipulating circumstances to alter the market trust. With a countries currency its regulated to a degree internationally, so Is it good or bad. can't tell from this interview
Raises the Ethical concern that the global cost of the bitcoin operation especially mining that is so energy intensive . So the cost of this alternative is huge and likely to disproportionately increase as the theoretic Bitcoin mining limit narrows. The huge active data storage is a Massive environmental issue .
This is the Same with big data storage .Increasingly the environmental cost of Big data, like Bitcoin. Cost is global, cost is mostly born by poorer 3rd world countries.

I agree. Bit coin would be ok, if it was just created as an alternative universal reserve currency. Greed is behind most bitcoin mining. It is also very electrical energy intensive.
