I made a "Clamptite", although a different design. Using it takes a little more time, but I agree with you completely. The box store worm gear clamp ends are terrible and can be hazardous to your health. The wire clamp is very tight, low profile, and smooth (if done correctly). It may take a couple of trys to make a good clamp. Once you learn though you never forget.

this is a nice video for non standard size pipe fittings - for standard Garden hoses - just buy Quick Connectors (QC/QD). Any comments on quick connects Russ?
I tried a few different types of quick connectors. Did not have good results with them. I do have some VCR type connectors like those but only on part of the farm.

Back-dragging a file is ok.there's a video where a guy did an exhaustive test of efficiency and file wear, and back-dragging was *more efficient* and did NOT cause more file wear, in fact, it cleared the teeth a bit.
I seen the file video on back dragging it was a good one. I do believe back drag doesn't hurt the file but there are a lot of folks out there that do. Thanks for watching!!!

Also, I drag my hoses sometimes while driving the side by side and I'm keenly aware (skeered) of the potential to lacerate the crap out of a hand w the tag end. Interesting that you're wearing a sweatshirt with "Witchita Falls" on it. I grew up in Bowie and still have property there...but the apparent basement shop and the trees outside the windows don't look like this part of Texas. Thanks for the video.

Two thoughts or a thought and question. Put a nut on the Bolt and run it up to where you want the hole and mark the center of one flat and that will Center on The Bold and keep it from turning. What kind and size of wire do you use is it soft or is it hardwire? Stainless steel wire generally being harder wire. I have a factory made device like you showed but I got it at a yard sale and have no idea how heavy a wire it can safely work.
That is a good idea maybe another video of the wire hose clamp tool. Lol. I use up to 17 gauge wire with this tool that is about max for it. I think I'm going to order one from Amazon. The hose clamps catch on everything when I drag the hose around the garden, very frustrating. I wonder how well it will work on soaker hose in the garden.?
