Interesting comparison, thanks. DD coils have very good near surface sensitivity to small targets, so no surprises that DD mode was better than Mono mode with the two bigger coils. I was struggling to hear the 0.1 on the 17x11 to be honest. Also the 0.6g seemed to be drifting in and out with the 17x11, whereas it was very consistent on the 15" Detech.

The 17×11 was struggling with the smaller targets and really needed to find the sweet spot to hear them. The detech was the sharpest on the .6 as i was able the lift the coil a few inches and still hear it. It also give's the most consistent response hitting the target along it's full length. The 11inch in mono is very sensitive but unfortunately is a hotrock magnet.
+Lukeozdigger cheers luke, it was a nice little setup the 3000 and detec coil but was unfortunately still a little noisy on hot ground in sensitive. I ended up with a gpx 4000 and 11inch mono elite camo running i sensitive smooth was a great combo. I might have to make a dryblower like yourself and get over your way again in summer, i got a fantastic area a bit further south from rushworth that i think would really suit a dryblower.
The detech will go alot deeper on bigger target's and with the flat winding is nearly as sensitive as the 11 on the small stuff. The big disadvantage of the detech is it weight it's very heavy. Cheers Daryl

The Detech DD been much bigger than the ML coil did not really shine the brightest. I am not sure it demonstrates any serious advantage.

Did you say that the last target was 8 or 18 inches? I couldn't understand what you said.
