When he was behind the camera and pointing, it was his friend’s hand we saw pointing, while he walked out to the right (notice how the camera is facing away from the entrance. He’s using a mic to help with the illusion, as it never seems like there is a longer distance between him and the camera.

I love how everyone that complains that he paused at the 3 casually ignores the fact that he predicted that many people would think of the 8 as well. That added another dimension to a trick that had been doing for 2 decades.
He placed those 2 cards like that on purpose. Those are the only 2 you can actually see. Even if you put it a .25 speed, those are the only 2 cards that are clear
Both were forced on everyone the 3 and the 8 he added the 8 as a option that he didn't force the three on us. Clearly the only cards anyone could see where those two so both were forced.

It's called a dribble force. So cut the top of the card and make it a bit shorter than the rest. So when you dribble through the cards, it stops on the shorter one for longer compared to the other cards.

@@preetjiwani3763 He didn't dribble the cards, he flipped through them. Dribble force is where you drop the cards on a break, or as you said you can use a short card. This is more like a rifle force, but instead of cutting the deck and taking out the card he just flashes the force card.

Its a psychological trick where he stops very quickly on the 3 of Diamonds while flipping through the deck so your mind subconsciously thinks of that one because it couldn't focus on any other card.
That's how he knew.

Obviously he was trying to force the 3 of diamonds and it came off a little obvious but jesus guys cut him some slack, first of all pulling that off is still much harder than you’d think and props to him for even trying to do a card trick over zoom

That's so hard to do, you have to get scissors, and choose a card, and then you have to throw away the bit you cut off, and learn how to riffle down a pack of cards, dear God it's a nightmare. They should put this brand new trick into a movie about magicians robbing a bank! They could have the card appear on a building instead of being painted in an apartment! I wonder if Jesse Eisenberg is working on anything right now.
@@mrluukeem6297 Trying to riffle through a deck with some sort of break or altered card before the card you want to force is harder than it sounds. You need to have the riffle look clean while stopping long enough to make it an obvious force, but not too long to make it look like you stopped on purpose. Not to mention that he's on a zoom call for millions of people. It's one of those tricks that seems simple, but is actually really hard to pull off.

Pizz48 it’s actually pretty easy it just takes a lot of practice, so what he did was make Ellen say the different things such as ace, 2, 3 and from face movement and another small gestures she made, he could tell which one hers was, I’ve actually perfected this trick myself.

He flipped through a large deck and I kept switching my selected card (7 of hearts, king of diamonds, and then 4 of spades) several times, before finally deciding on the ace of hearts. Of course... that's the exact card he pulls out...

This trick is one of the simplest and best things to show. You literally just cut the top of one of the cards, so when you flick through them it’s kinda like that card is slowed down
Saw how he paused at the 3 of diamonds for a millisecond more and then I rewound it to see if I was able to get another card. In all seriousness my second card choice was the 8 of diamonds. Literally baffled right now

@Hector Castillo You picked the 3 of diamonds because he had two of them in the deck, so it appeared for longer when he was shuffling through. All other cards are just a blur, as there only is one of each (except the 8 of diamonds, which he did the same thing to as a backup). It’s literally not possible to see any of the other cards, as they become just a blur.

@@_Muk_ pretty much, but at first look you probably wouldn't notice the hang on the 3 or 8 being last (we tend to notice first and last the most in any sequence). Looking back you can see 3 is the main, 8 is the backup, the rest of the cards flip fast enough to be a blur.
