Mikey, I know this is an old tutorial, but I feel compelled to let you know what it means to me to find this. I LOVE crochet and have been frantic to make my own clothes for some time, but it seems that few designers (that I've found) make the effort to explain how to size their patterns up or down. Sure, some designs don't lend themselves to that, but some do and as a larger woman, with a heavier bust it is a shame to be left out of making something so pretty. So I'm very much looking forward to trying my hand at this because you make these things so simple and accessible seemingly without effort. And I appreciate it so very much. Something as simple as including the stitch multiple would allow folk to customise designs to fit their body shape much easier than depending on sizes (ExS-5xl) which are surely different from Canada to UK to US and beyond. I know I'm babbling now, but truly, thank you. Just your intro made me feel seen and if there's a way for me to share the final result, I'll do that, just to show that yes, designs shown off for smaller builds, can, in places, work for larger ones too. Your a wonderful human, Mikey. Thank you.
I have to say I enjoy your tutorials you don't ramble I prefer your instructions and patterns over most of the other channels thank you so much and keep them coming
Another great video thank you. I'm making my 2nd one. Your the one who taught me how to crochet from the start going on 3 1/2 years now. Thank you for all your hard work!!!!
Thank you thank you so much for you!!!! All your AWSOME help in instructing on how to do these beautiful patterns is such a helpful tool!!!!! Seeing is believing!! Mikey!! Love you !!!!!!!!!
TYSVM, Mikey for such an easy and versatile (length/width) pattern. I am now half through with my 5th one. I made one with the yarn suggested, 3 in cotton and this one in bamboo with a 4mm hook. I am using the 2XL guide to make a medium with this hook size and making it thigh length for a swimsuit coverlet. I did the maths (no mean feat, that) and am doing the mesh part in the round and it is just lovely! It drapes beautifully with the bamboo and I am most certain I shall be making more 😊💜
Thank you Mikey for making tutorials like you do. I have been crocheting for 35 years. My mom taught me just ch & sc at age 6 or 7. With your tutorials I have started making intermittent & advance patterns. I still struggle with diagrams & graphs.
Mikey, I am just starting this pattern and am just crazy for it! I love to crochet and you make it that much more fun to do! You just inspire me to want to do more!
Thank you for this tutorial.. It is precise and clear ...I tried to follow from another youtube video but still could not get the pattern... Your version is really very clear thank you again ..will definitely be taking back up my pattern and redoing it ...Blessings
I love your crochet tutorials, Mikey! You are always so simple & easy to follow along with -- it's amazing how simple but yet how gorgeous some of these patterns turn out!!! I made the women's beach cover-up last summer and have worn it many many times now. I'm excited to go get yarn to make this cute summer top. Thank you so much for all that you & the Crochet Crowd do! 💙💜💚💜💙💚
love this! I made mine medium before I looked at the website and realized medium is for a 40" bust 😕 so it's gonna be to big for me, but its good for a practice peice, next one will be smaller but I love this video thank you so much for sharing! I've learned so much from your videos!!
What a fantastic video I absolutely love your tutorials. I have just finished making my first one in white Cotten and it looks amazing and fits beautifully. Xxx
Thank you so much! I needed more practice crocheting and I wanted something simple and easy. This was the perfect project. Watching from the Great Northwest 💗💗
A very cute and quick-to-crochet top. A couple of questions, Mike: 1) On the strap row, after you do your last section of 3 sc in the ch-4 sp before the strap, you ch 2 and then dc in the next ch-4 space. When it's time to do the second ch 2, shouldn't you go in the next ch-4 sp and do your 3 sc instead of doing an sc in the next dc? The former way makes the beginning and end of the strap symmetrical. 2) At the very end of the strap row, you just did 3 sc in the ch-4 sp. Shouldn't you do 4 sc in that space to match the beginning of the row where you sc in the dc and then 3 sc in the first ch-4 space, again to make the beginning end of the row symmetrical? Thanks in advance.
Patrice Walker hi! I know it’s 3 yrs later lol but did you ever get this figured out? I’m just curious before I begin and waste half a day and then not be able to finish properly and then not be able to figure this out on my own(stroke brain) I really need the help now to make things. Anyhow if you are still around the tubes and recieve this message and can help me a huge Thanks in advance! If not, I do hope you got it figured out regardless and I hope I can too! It’s now April.15.2020, and we are several weeks in to this pandemic and I’m going batty lol. I hope you are healthy and safe!💜
@@CanadianMum444 Honestly, I made this once and haven't used the pattern since then. I must have winged it because clearly I never got a reply from Mike. I'd say, use some cheap yarn and experiment. Once you've figured it out, make it in a nicer yarn. Sorry I couldn't help more.
Patrice Walker thank you for answering so soon! You are very kind! Yeah I think that’s likely what I’ll do. Thank you! That was helpful just the support and idea of “winging” it in a less good yarn first and then the one I really like! 💜
@@CanadianMum444 You're welcome, Kimberly. I have a crochet website and biz so I've learned early on to reply to folk who have questions. I'm "old school" like that. :-) Good luck with it!
Best explanation of this stitch I have seen, thank you. But I am still confused slightly as you said you work in multiples of 12 (other patterns say 4 or 20) but you start with 82 chain. Great video, I am making one for my daughter and will go back to me beginning following your instructions which make more sense.
Hi, Mikey. I wanted to let you know that there is a typo or discrepancy in the written pattern when joining. The pattern says: FINISHING With WS's together, join side seams, but the tutorial correctly says with RS's together and WS's facing out for joining. I think anyone who has done some sewing will know, but I'm not sure everyone who takes up crochet will have ever done any sewing. Tutorial is awesome as usual. Thanks, Mikey.
That’s very pretty how many balls of the Caron simply soft do you need to use to complete the project?? Any help that you can give me is greatly appreciated thank you and happy crocheting. ! Sue
Thanks for the professional guidance. I would be happy to know exactly what type of thread is. A buyer at eBay and all the wool I ordered came thick and did not fit into summer tops. Thanks

I really enjoy watching your video on how to make this but as you mentioned in this video that you have another video on the cami sizes but I can’t find it. I’m trying to make a large and I’m very frustrated on the feather part for the size large. Can you or anybody on here help me, please and thank you!
Sondra, I think the Patons Metallic is being discontinued. It may no longer be available. If you cannot find it on Yarnspirations.com, than chances are it's gone. I'm sorry.
Please help! :) I thought I was making this correctly - it really does seem pretty easy, but I've gone astray somehow and I just can't figure it out. When I got to the end of first row of scallops, I don't seem to have the correct number of chain four spaces to complete the final scallop in the row. Starting from the top section, how many 4 chain space rectangles / hectogon spaces should there be? I have 18 spaces/rectangles consistently throughout. I think I might be one short. Please help if you can. Many thanks for all you do !
Hi Mikey, I am making "The Floral Cami's" for my daughters. I have searched for the the Caron simply soft "hombre" I cannot find it. Please, can you help me? Thank you so much

Sondra Bowers it's "ombré". Since Mikey is from Canada he pronounces it differently. I get my Caron at Walmart or Michaels.
How can I down size this pattern to a toddler size? My 4 yr old seen me making mine and now wants one. Is it possible to size it down that far?
82 sts is not a multiple of 12?
Please at the very end I find 8 chs. So what a understood is that I have to make 3sc in the the same stitch before I finish?
Is there a way to do the bottom without the picot? My brain just won't do them today.
