Informative, well produced video; however, seeing the pine forests being indiscriminately clear cut is disturbing. I live in Spring, north of Houston, and every day I drive to and fro, I see woodlands that have been destroyed by increased urbanization. The worst offense is when developers cut down a stand of trees to build an ugly one-level strip mall. A strip mall that effectively evicts native flora and fauna by destroying their habitat--food and shelter for woodpeckers, deer, armadillos, bees, butterflies, dragonflies, fireflies, and a whole host of native species. Developments that replaces rich soil that absorbs rainwater with impermeable concrete, creating flooding risks and depleting water tables. Utterly baffling are strip malls that often remain empty for many months, and woodlands that are preemptively clear cut and put up for sale, but go years without any development. When I see such unfettered urbanization, I can't help my visceral reaction of anger and gloom.

you don't need all of the crap you have. you certainly don't need a home with rooms you rarely use. we need to rethink our life styles and allow for tiny home communities

Some people can't afford houses in the first place, but that just seems like a better reason to share a home, when you live with your family you save space, you all can work together to improve the same home, and upkeep it, and less space will be wasted, luckily you could likely build a house and plant back the the trees you cut down, and the trees will likely grow back before the house stops being used, The average age for a house is around 37 in the us, with homes in Texas tending to be younger, closer to 10 or 20. some trees can grow back in that time. But Quite a few cannot.

@@PrincessandtheFrog2 Yes, if you like the people, it might be okay to live with them. But, I think soon many will be FORCED to live with strangers and they might not like those people. It is illegal for a landlord to discriminate based on many things, but roommates get no choice in who the landlord allows to rent a room. So an older woman may be forced to live with a 19 year old man who likes loud music, having friends and lovers over every day, and who has very different values and desires. Not a happy situation.

go deeper. Stop all of that junk mail being sent to us. stop building homes far too big for us. over 25% of Americans are single, so don't need 3 or 4 bedrooms, yet that is all available. And why are minimum square footage rules 900 sq ft? That might be too big for an elderly single person - or even a younger one. Do we need decks (they rot)? Why is our furniture so flimsy - almost disposable? Stop using and wasting so much wood and then less trees get cut.

No logging, no toilet paper. Just sayin 🤷

@@RickNethery Yeah... we can't have No logging, Its not as easy to stop logging as just saying to stop logging. there are going to be alternatives for things in the future, but if we get to a point were we can farm what we need and not go over the amount we can replace that would be amazing. But we are going to move away from that goal slowly because of expansion. we will likely replace a lot of the things we use wood in with new materials, but if those materials are going to be plastics... then wood might be a better alternative. I hope we get closer to not using wood, but wood isn't the kind of material that is in danger of running out or ruining the environment. We just need to be more carful about how we harvest and use wood.

Very beautiful landscape. I’m not a big god guy but it would be foolish to not see the heavenly blessings imparted on this world. The Industrial Revolution and its consequences have been a disaster for the earth and will leave mankind worse
