The reason that the card is unbanned is the same reason it took until like turn 4 for you to do anything. If you get ashed you basically pass turn. Unless you happen to have secrets and blue boy.
imo, the best way to play this card is in an Endymion deck. Endymion can already set up tons of negates and other flood gates to protect this card and has a number of amazing synergies. Probably one of the most oppressive boards ive ever set up (with any deck) was: -Jowgen: yall know what he does now -Secret Village of the Spellcasters: prevents your opponent from activating spells while only you control a spellcaster -Selene: in the event that your opponent beats over jowgen, you can remove 3 spell counters from your field to just summon him back in mp2. additionally, while there is an endymion card on field (including as a pend scale), your opponent cannot beat over this card to prevent you from resummoning jowgen. -vortex dragon: shuffles a card from the face up extra for an omni negate -mix of 3 endymion & jackal king: endymion returns a card with a spell counter to the hand (potentially including itself, but the card has to return to the hand, so no selene) to negate the activation of a spell/trap and jackal king removes 2 spell counters from the field to negate a monster effect. -spellbook engine & the large number of draw spells endymion typically runs allows you to draw through over half your deck in a turn -alternatively, you can have avramax instead of selene to prevent your opponent from beating over jowgen in the first place. here's the deck i run it in. its a bit expensive (even for an endymion deck), but you can save some UR by cutting instant fusion and its two targets, and replacing a couple chicken games with potentially a couple into the void or something else. www.masterduelmeta.com/saved-decks/632940bcbcc1fc82faf5d167
Spellbook of Judgement was, and still is, one of the most broken Yu-Gi-Oh cards ever created. 100% made Prophecy/Spellbook decks absolutely ridiculous. Adding Jowgen to the strategy was the icing on the cake. On a side note, I am mega excited about the season finale of Duel Night GX. Light of Destruction is a fantastic set!
That is true; Spellbook spell cards are definitely needed in order to fully resolve Judgment. Yeah it may be at 1, but Spellbook of the Masters can copy it, and Spellbook of Eternity (I believe that's the name of the card) can bring it back to your hand, assuming Judgment is banished

I'm happy they've brought Judgement back, can finally dust off my Prophecy deck! It was the one meta deck that I invested in before it became Tier Zero, until Judgement was banned, defaulted to Noble Knights after that, was most competetive thing I had that no one else used at my locals, there was one other who liked to use Gem-Knights we were the unique duelers. Glad that my main archetype; Spellcasters, are coming back stronger than ever. (DM's, Gravekeepers, Prophecy, Shaddolls) Glad to know I'm not the only one that calls Spellbook Magician; Blue Boy!

I don't see how the card is so broken... Yes, you can use it to summon Jowgen, but you could summon that card anyway if you drew it or had a different card that could retrieve it from your deck. Not to mention, the spellbook cards don't seem to really have that good of effects. So is there something I'm missing here? Cause it doesn't really seem that power, especially compared to others cards out there that are just have absolutely ludicrous effects.
You set your whole board up on your turn then in the end phase judgement pretty much resets your entire hand for follow up then special summoning out a floodgate style monster with ease. Resource management is the big thing about this card.
Youre not missing much, judgement is an amazing card for an archetype that plays 3 copies of fate, which is there only really good form of interaction in archetype, and then 11 draw cards to maintain recources. Thats not including staples like 3 maxx c, 3 magicians souls, and 3 ash blos, 6 of those cards mentioned just being more draw. When you consider that flunder can just search summon barrier statue to achieve the same thing as a spellbook endboard says alot

Your second duel shows why the card isn't that broken at 1 copy. If it was at 2 or 3 ya it'd be busted. At 1, you brick alot, and don't find it alot. If your opponent hadn't bricked too you'd have lost the duel turn 2 forsure
The power of spellbook of judgement is over the limit. What a broken card but it lacks consistency from a certain point of view, depending the situation of the duel ofc.

This deck looks good, there's one thing I don't understand about it. How do the Shaddoll cards play into this deck? Other than the fusion monsters themselves you don't have a single Shaddoll monster in this deck, so how can you use them?

Cursed of the forbidden spell really kills spellbooks, also i have s tendency of running that card in almost all my decks to destroy sky strikers and now spell books, you can Ash judgement and there is over for that card...

It's true spellbook of judgement is really a good card when it first appeared it was banned already but no anymore even tho it's a good card there's a 50% chance that you well run out of cards from your deck that card maybe good but also risky just look at cyber jar it got banned when that card came out now look at this year 2022 its been so long it got banned just like spellbook of judgement 👍🙂
